I have quite dry skin to start with, but I noticed I was getting particularly dry patches on my shins after shaving. I have to be honest, I normally just lather up some shower gel to shave my legs with, however I decided it would be a good idea to invest in some proper shaving foam until the dryness cleared up. I actually went out with the Gillette Apricot gel in mind as I'd used that earlier in the year and found it to be good. When I got to the shop however, I spotted the dry skin variety and decided that would probably be a better bet. The shaving gel actually contains Shea butter which is fantastic for moisturising the skin. I absolutely adore Shea butter ... Read the complete review

I switch and change my shaving gel depending on my mood and whatever catches my eye in the shops and I don't have any particular loyalty to a brand or product but lately I have been using Gillette satin care for dry skin for few months which is unusual for me. The reason I originally bought it was that it was on offer when I went into the shop to buy some and as I had used some Gillette gels in the past but not the sensitive one I decided to give it a try. It comes in a 200ml metal can and is fairy feminine in apperance so as to not confuse it with it's male counterparts. Instead of being a foam it is actually a gel that turns to foam on contact ... ***SATIN CARE SHAVE GEL*** Satin Care Shave gel is made by Gillette Venus and comes in a wide range of different fragrances and formulations. There are 4 different fragrances which include Alluring Avocado, Lavender Kiss, Floral Passion & Radiant Apricot. They also do formulations for specific skin types which include Sensitive Skin, Dry Skin & Cooling Sensation. The particular shave gel I am reviewing is the Dry Skin formulation. This comes in a white can which is also blue and purple in colour with a white plastic lid. This formula contains Glycerin & Shea Butter which is especially designed for dry skin. The moisturising formula helps to protect the ... Read the complete review

I shave my legs and bits and pieces most days. I have done from a very young age and now at the grand old age of 35 I find that I get thick hair appearing daily! I hate hairy bits and so shave like a good un though because I do shave often I am prone to nicking myself rather too often which is why when I spotted this on offer in Boots recently and for dry skin (which I do suffer from particularly on my knees) I bought it for 99p knowing I was getting a bit of a bargain! The Packaging: The can holds 200ml of the shave gel and the colour-scheme of said can is white, turquoise and purple. On the front of the can there is a wavy pattern and a purple ... I get really bad shaving rash when I shave, because of this I always use a shaving cream. Although I'm more then happy to try other brands when they are on offer, Gillette is a name I trust and always come back to. I always use their dry skin version since I've found that not only does this help with the rash but my legs are always very dry after shaving and this helps with that problem too. Also the Gillette dry skin shaving gel has added Shea Butter which I've found helps with my skin. ~*~ Using The Shave Gel ~*~ The shave gel is a blue gel but transforms into a white foam when rubbed into your legs. A small amount goes a long way and I ... Read the complete review
