Advantages: For sensitive skin. Lathers well. Moisturizes. Smoother finish.
Disadvantages: Over-generous delivery. Quite expensive.
I tend to get rid of unwanted hair on my legs and armpits by shaving, simply because I find this the quickest and most convenient method of hair removal. Sometimes I will shave just using soap and on the whole I find this to be a reasonable method to get enough lather to allow a nice smooth shave. However, sometimes doing this leaves my skin quite dry and so occasionally I am encouraged to buy a shaving gel to aid this process and improve the finish that shaving leaves me. One such shaving gel I've used is Gillette Satin Care Moisture Rich Shave Gel (Sensitive Skin). This recently cost me £2.50 from Tesco - which I do feel is quite expensive for this type of product, but having said that I do fairly regularly pay this out because a can does last a long time as a little goes a long way.
The Gillette Satin Care Moisture Rich Shave Gel (Sensitive Skin) is a gel which foams up with lathered up and it is designed to improve the finish on your skin after shaving. It comes in an aerosol-like can which has full instructions on how to use it, as well as a list of ingredients. The can has a nozzle at the top of the can which works to pump out the gel. This nozzle works well, the only negative point being that even the gentlest press of the nozzle does deliver a very generous helping of the gel, and very often I don't need quite as much as is delivered. With this in mind, it's actually quite hard to control how much gel is delivered.
When the gel comes out it has a really nice fragrance to it which is slightly floral but very subtle. In order to use it's just a matter of wetting my legs and then smoothing the gel onto my legs before shaving. The gel spreads on easily and lathers up really quickly, easily and nicely when it is massaged into my legs. This is then "shaved off" - and then I just rinse it off - and it also rinses very easily.
I find that it aids the shaving process and leaves me with a smoother finish and no stubble whatsoever. It is definitely an improvement to not using any shaving gel. As well as the smoother finish, I have to say that my legs don't have that horrible dry feeling that I often feel after shaving and so it moisturises really well and so there is no need to then apply moisturise and end up with stingy legs. It does have aloe vera and Vitamin E in it and so I think that this soothes and does moisturise well.
I do have quite sensitive skin and I have never reacted badly to the product and so I've never been left with any rash or stingy sensations.
Overall, I do recommend this product and believe it is one of the superior shaving gels.
Summary: Recommended.
