Jolen Creme Bleach
Advantages: It does what it promises
Disadvantages: Smells a bit strong and can sting ever so slightly
Some of us women have to face the indignity of having what is commonly refered to as a 'tash'. In fact it is usually only a tiny little bit of hair on the upper lip that 99% of the time is so light and fine that it is not really noticable to most people. Ufortunately I am in that small majority where my upper lip hair is a little darker and although it is fine and not course the fact that I notice it is enough to make me do something about it.
As a teenager I used to shave it off until my mum told me it would grow back in darker and thicker. Now I don't know if this is true or an old wives tale but it was enough to scare me from shaving it for life. I was still determined to get rid of it though and so I discovered jolen cream bleach and have been using it ever since.
Jolen is a mild cream bleach that is used to lighten the fine hair on the more delicate areas of the body that we don't wish to have any hair on show such as the face, arms and toes (thank god I don't have dark hair on my toes or else I don't think I could cope).
In the box you get some cream, powder, a spatulla and a little mixing tray. It is really easy to use and you just need to mix together 1/4 a teaspoon of the powder with 1/2 a teaspoon of the cream and mix until they have blended together perfectly.
You then just apply the mixture to the area you want to lighten with the spatulla and wait 10 minutes for it too work.
I usually apply the bleach to my top lip before a night out and spend the 10 minutes pottering around doing my nails etc and then wash it off. The bleach works fantastically well and really does make the hair so light within the 10 minutes so as to make it unnoticeable. My hair is quite dark and it makes it scandanavian blonde so even women with the darkest of hairs should see significant lightening.
The whole process is quick and easy and the results are fantastic especially as the bleach has so little side effects. I have very sensitive skin and I find that other than a mild stinging sensation when I first apply the bleach my skin is always okay when I wash it off with no redness or burning.
The smell is quite potent but this is something you get used to after using the bleeach for awhile and it is the price you need to pay for lightening your hairs.
The only other thing is that it is mortifying if someone comes to the door whilst it is on your lip.
You can buy Jolen mild creme bleach from almost all the usual high street stores such as superdrug and boots for around £4.50 and is well worth the money for the little boost in confidence it gives me.
Summary: A brilliant product that is a must for me
