I spend loads of money on razors as I have a extreme body hair problem that is related to a hormone imbalance. The problem effects my self esteme alot and at times I don't want to step out of the front door. I was in my local Boots store yesterday and spotted this for £10.99. I thought I would give it a go, to be honest I wasn't holding out too much hope as I have tried products in the past that where useless.
Comes in a rather stylish box. It tells me that it is Nair simple and effective easy microwave wax. It comes in a green plastic tub the wax is brown in colour. It clearly states that it is dermatology tested. However you must preform a patch test 24 hours before doing the full wax treatment. Do not use it on moles or wherethere is damaged skin.
For a 900 watt microwave heat the full tub for 130 seconds or 2 minutes 10 seconds. For half a tub heat for 70 seconds or 1 minute 10 seconds. Leave to cool for 3 minutes.
If it is cool enough at body temperature use the applicator to spread a thin layer over the direction of the hair grow Then remove after a couple of minutes. Do ot go oer the same area again leave 24 hours before reapplying.
I have used numerous brands of wax in the past. This has got to be the best I have used to date.
I have a severe hair growth problem due to having Poly cystic ovaries. I have been going on dates lately and don't want them being put off by body hair!
I had a bath before applying it as I believe it opened the pours more.
I used the wooden applicator and spread it on the hair. I then left it for about two minutes then I peeled it off in the direction of the hair growth. It is brown and smells of toffee. I prefer the peel off more than having to use strips its less messy. To my amazement all the hair came off. Mine is very thick due to my condition.
I used it on my tummy chin and upper lip. I feel more confident now. My skin is silky smooth. I found it lasted week on me then I reapplied it. On the instructions it says use every four weeks. For me every week is great because I don't have to shave every day and have the embarrassment of razor burn.
I highly recommend this for women with hair growth issues like me, or for you ladies who just want to look glam. This is the product for any women to try.
I can now go out with my head held high because no-one can see it!
I have tried many different kinds of hair removal wax for all of the face/ body /bikini areas. This is not one of the ones I would recommend. I have had alot of problems with different types of Nair products but decided to try this because the regular brand I use was out of stock. The "sensual fragrance" smells like no more than a somewhat sickly combination between regular wax and what seems to be lavender... They don't mix well.
"Effective on even short hair" was not true for me. I hate not shaving but let it go long enough to be able to use this wax. The short hairs it did remove were few and far between. I'd put down a strip, pull it off and end up with a few hairs at most.
It's beyond messy. If you decide to buy this product make sure you're waxing over something that is disposable or you'll spend ages trying to pull wax out of carpet/clothes or even off your skin if you miss the tiniest piece which is very painful.
All in all it does an -okay- job getting not-so-short hairs out but no better than any other product.
You'll have to find more than one applicator, also. This stuff will dry on there quick and you'll have a hard time getting it off. Making it harder to streamline the wax where you want it.
The not so effective removal combined with the (what I consider) sickly smell and lack of applicators makes this product not worth the money. Much better products out there.
I was very anxious about trying this product as I have sensitive skin and have some nasty run ins with Veet in the past. So with my antihistamines at the ready I gave this a try.
You get a good size pot of wax although it is about £8.00 I find it does last a couple of applications. The instructions are very easy to follow and the wax heats to the correct temperature in about 3 minutes.
All you have to do is spread the molten wax on the area for hair removal using the wooden applicator provided and wait for the wax to dry and than simply rip off the wax strip as fast as you like. This wax does not require additional cotton strips and as such I find it less messy than some of it's rivals, don't get me wrong the wax is very messy but you can remove it from most surfaces as soon as it is hard, although it has proven difficult to remove from towels.
Best of all I had no allergic reaction whatsoever and wax can be used on all areas of the body and I find it to be a really useful product.
In conclusion, this product is great if you have sensitive skin and it is effective at hair removal.
This is by far one of the best at home waxing kits I have used. The hot wax actually does what it claims and takes away short hairs.
---- The Packaging ----
I love the colours of this Easy Wax packaging. It's a pretty purple colour with white parts and navy writing. It's simplistic and eye catching and also easy to read.
---- The Product ----
You just heat the wax up on the microwave, the time depends on the watt of your microwave. If you heat it up too much you can just let it cool for a few minutes. Once heated you stir with the little stick which comes with the wax that is used to apply the wax to the skin.
You then dip the application wand into the wax and smooth a thin layer of wax on your leg. You wait for a few seconds and then rip the wax off in one fluid motion. I love this wax as it removes the shorter hairs on my legs it is also less painful than cold wax strips. This wax really does work as all the stages involved in using it are fairly easy.
The only problem I have ever had with this wax is that it can be so ridiculously messy. I ended up with pink wax stuck to my white bathroom floor which doesn't look too great. The wax in the tub also starts to harden rather quickly if you don't use it fast enough, if this happens you can just reheat in the micro so it isn't that big of an issue.
--- The Price ---
I paid around £8.50 for a tub of this wax a while ago out of my local chemist. It is worth the money as you are left with smooth hairless legs.
This product is good and I did find it took the hairs off and it wasn't as painful as wax strips. However it can get rather messy (i was peeling wax off the floor, slippers etc for days after) also the wax cools down too quickly so constant running back and forth to the microwave with half waxed legs just made the whole process a lot longer.Did work but too much hassle, I havent bothered to buy it since. If it retained heat longer I would possibly buy this again but until then I wont bother.
I bought Nair easy microwave wax because what attracted me was the fact that no strips were needed. I had previously read reviews about it, but they were 50/50. I must say I only used it on my legs once. The first strip I made was very hard to peel off. It kept on breaking, and at the end I ended up peeling bits off which made it very hard and painful. Straight away I thought I was doing it wrong, so I read the instructions a few times again. I also tried to find videos about it on Youtube, but to no avail. So, one more time I tried it , only to have the same result. It just kept breaking into small pieces. I was in pain, and my legs were not waxed, just red. I must mention that I have been having leg wax for years I am not a first timer, so I knew what to expect in terms of pain etc. I will never buy this product again. I did try to find it in Boots, to tell them about it, but as in their website, it is not there. They must have realised it did not work. So since then I have only been using normal hot wax. You really can't go wrong.
Absolute rubbish! I followed all the instructions and tried everything I could think of but this wax would not take off any hairs! I spent over an hour trying and my legs look exactly the same! A complete waste of time, money and effort!
What a brilliant product!
I first tried this product a couple of years ago and I loved it. Nair is easy to use and apply, less painful than waxing with strips and very effective (even on short hairs).
Nair comes in a large purple pot of solid wax, which is then heated in the microwave and spread over the hairs using the spatula provided in the pack. The pack also contains a temperature probe which changes colour when the temperature is too high so you know whether the wax is too hot for your skin.
Nair is unlike normal wax as there are no fiddly strips involved, Nair is spread over the hairs and left for a few seconds until it has set completely and then pulled off. Because Nair sets completely before being pulled off there is not sticky mess left behind. Because Nair doesn't have the same sticky-ness as wax it is also less painful. Nair only pulls on the hairs where as normal wax sticks to and pulls away the top layer of the skin too.
Nair is by no means completely painless but is considerably less painful than waxing. I used to have a full leg wax and bikini wax done professionally every four weeks but still prefer to use Nair myself as its so much more comfortable and cheaper. A full leg and bikini wax costs me £40-£45 in a salon Nair costs £8 a pot. I'm that impressed with Nair that I'm suprised the brand hasn't made it in to salons itself!
The smell of Nair is a fresh sweet scent, its gentle on you skin and the super smooth results last weeks.
Highly recommended - Give it a try!
I would totally recommend this product. I have had excellent results and my daughter has been using it for a couple of years with excellent effect.I am a total coward, I hate having my eyebrows plucked. Last time i had them shaped at the hairdressers with a prof waxing, I still had to endure a bit of plucking, i was not impressed. My daughter persuaded me to let her use this product to do my brows, total result in one go, no other plucking needed, very little discomfort. now after all these years i can finally have two nicely shaped brows instead of my usual caterpillars. One tub lasts ages well worth the money.
Nair Easy Wax Microwave
**WHAT IT DOES**
It is a wax, which will remove hair quickly with lasting results. It is hot wax, which is heated in the microwave. There is no mess and no strips as when applying this wax as you just peel it off. It will remove any unwanted hair leaving skin smooth and hair free. It claims to be effective even on short hair.
It comes in a cardboard box which is mostly bright purple with green headings. All writing is in dark blue so its easy to read. On the front and top of the box there is the 'Nair' logo which is in dark blue and it also has brief information on the product here. On the other sides of the box it gives you very detained information about the product on how it use it and what cautions to take.
Inside there is a purple tub that has the hard wax inside. It is rather sturdy and this is what you put into the microwave to heat up. The 'Nair' logo is on the front of this tub in white writing. Included is a application (which looks like a lollipop stick) and a temperature indicator stick (which is a purple stick which turns pink when the wax is too hot). Two smooth touch wipes are also included to help soothe your skin after you have waxed. An instruction leaflet is inside that is very detailed and at it is recommended that you read this first.
Wax: Modified Colopheonium, Paraffin, Hydrogenated Butylene/ Ethylene/ Styrene Copolymer, Parfum, BHT, Citronellol, Coumarin, Limonene, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methlypropional, Linalool.
Smooth Touch Wipes: Paraffinum Liquidum, Ethylexyl Stearate, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Isopropyl Myristate, Bisabolol, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Methylparaben, Buytlparaben, Ethylparaben, Proplyparaben, Isobutylparaben, Parfum, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Salicylate, Citronellol, Eugenol, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Limonene, Linalool
If you are allergic to any of these ingredients do not use this product.
This wax is yellow in colour and once it is melted it kind of looks like honey. You need to make extra sure that you have checked with the temperature applicator that the wax has cooled enough for you to put it onto your skin as it can be very dangerous. It uses a unique natural resin wax, which is smoothed onto the skin after being heated in the microwave. You make sure that you have used a thin layer of coating and it will grip of even the shortest hairs which will then be pulled away to remove the hairs from the roots. This giving long lasting results compared to shaving and the delayed appearance of regrowth. After use you can use the smooth touch wipes to remove any residue and help soothe the skin.
DIRECTIONS: It is useful is you have cleaned your skin and dried it first .You heat the wax tub in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. Leave the tub for a few minutes to help diffuse the heat through the wax. Use the temperature applicator to test that it is cool enough to put onto your skin. It will turn pink if it is too hot. The use the applicator (looks like a lollipop stick) to smooth the wax onto the skin once it is safe to do so. Wait a few seconds, maybe longer if required for the wax to harden. Then peel off the wax strip along with any unwanted hairs in the opposite direction of the hair growth. My advice is to tighten your skin when peeling off the strip and do it in one fast motion, instead of peeling it gently as this will hurt so much more.
Make sure before you have used this product that you do a test patch as your skin may react badly to it. If the test patch irritates your skin do not use the product. If your skin is ok 24 hours later then it is safe to proceed to use this product. Your skin will turn red a little after use but it should disappear soon after.
Make sure you read the warning on the leaflet before using, as there is lots of different things you shouldn't do when using this wax. Like you shouldn't use it on loose skin, weak scars, sunburn and many other skin conditions. You do not use it near the area and if you get it into your eyes wash immediately with clean water and seek medical attention. Wax should not be used by people suffering from diabetes or circulatory problems or on areas with varicose veins, moles or warts.
My main concern with this product is that you can burn yourself very easily with the wax as it is very hot and you don't realise and put it onto your skin, however if you follow the instructions this should not happen. You need to be extra careful when heating the wax and leave it to cool for a few minutes in the microwave so no wax spits out at you. I find that this wax works better for me than other wax strips. It removes the hair effectively if used in the correct manner. I do find that sometimes it leaves a sticky residue on my skin however this can be removed easily with the wipes provided. The only problem I find is that I run out of wipes before I run out of wax which is annoying. It claims to remove very short hairs but in my experience this is not the case and I sometimes have to try again to remove the hairs as it doesn't get them first time if they are short. Overall though it does remove most of the hairs effectively. To be sure when you are going to wax I would let your hairs grow that wee bit longer so you don't have to go over it and it will get them first time. It does hurt using this wax as it does with all waxing however if you do it correctly it minimises the pain and eventually you get used to it. It does leave my skin with red marks but it goes away easily within a few hours. I love the way that there is no sticky strips lying about the wax just peels off and you throw it away with your hair attached so there is less mess in cleaning up, plus it is far more convenient. Sometimes the wax will not come off all in one go if the wax has not dried completely so make sure that it has hardened enough. After a few times of using this product you will be able to judge this more better. You can use as much of the wax as you need on one area and don't waste any of the wax. At £7.99 this product may seem expensive but it lasts for more than one application and I feel it is worth the extra money as it does what its supposed to do well with less hassle and more convenience than other waxing products.
This was absolute rubbish!!! Will never use again. I don't recommend it to anyone, big waste of money. Even though I did everything the instructions said it barely took any hairs out. It kept on sticking to the tub and drying out quickly too. I am very disappointed. Not even worth a 1 star rating.
I have been using Nair Microwave wax for the past 6 months and in my experience it is one of the most easy going wax. The wax strips i used previously are just a waste of money. My experience with this wax was excellent and i would like to continue waxing my body with Nair body wax.
The after wax lotion makes the skin soft and removes the wax residues, making me feel softttttt.
It is the easiest way to get your bocy waxed since you don't need to pull those wax strips and justhave to heat it up in microwave and u can go on and on and on, ending up with smoooth legs, arms, under arms and bikini line.
There is no heating of wax again and again, just heat it up once you are getting started.
In short NAIR EASY WAX MICROWAVE simply makes your waxing Easyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
So try it out and have fun for atleast 20 days.
It's the worse microwavable waxing product. The wax stick to the jar so much, and it hardly takes any hair out of your skin as a result leaving unsmooth leg, with patched of hair! I don't have hairly leg and my hair is quite soft but to be honest it's hardly every taken hair off my leg. Avoid please.
This must be the worst product I have ever tried for hair removal in my life-much worse than other warm wax products, that I have used successfully. I spent one and a half hours last night spreading, scraping, peeling, pulling and stirring and I still have fairly hairy legs which will need shaved in the bath this morning (and every morning while I am away in a nice hotel which was what I was trying to avoid)
I've used the wax once and will never use it again! It is the WORST wax I've ever used. I used to use Veet, but they don't seem to make warm wax anymore, so I tried Nair. It's awful!
The application is meant to be easy, at least so they say, but it's not! I've been using warm wax for years, so I'm quite experienced in applying it, but this was just a nightmare.
There are no strips. You "just" smooth on and then peel off. As if! It's VERY difficult to peel it off! You are meant to take it at the end and then peel the whole thing off. But that hardly every works. Most of the time you just manage to tear a tiny little bit of, and another one, until after a while you finally manage to get the whole strip iff. They say that the wax should not stay on the skin for longer than a minute, but that's hardly avoidable with the long peeling off process.
They say it's easy and clean. NO, it's really MESSY because the wax creates long threads that go everywhere.
What annoyed me most however, is that the wax, once dry, is IMPOSSIBLE to get off anything.
You apply the wax with a wooden applicator that comes with it. It's never possible to apply the entire wax from the applicator onto the skin. So obviously the applicator gets really full of wax after using it a couple of times. When it was so full that it was difficult to use, I switched to using a knife, and even a second knife. Mistake! I had to throw both knives away because it was IMPOSSIBLE to get the wax off!
I put the knives into a bowl with boiling hot water and let them in there for a bit. The wax even became a bit more fluid, but I still couldn't get it all off. Moreover the bit of wax that did came off stayed at the bottom of the bowl and dried there. So I had to throw that away, too, as well as the plate one which I had put the tub. I don't know whether it would come off in a dishwasher, I haven't got one. But I doubt it because it sticks on so solidly.
The problem is simply that the wax gets TOO hard when cold. Veet warm wax was so much better because even when dry it was still relatively soft. Therefore whatever was full of wax could simply be put under hot water for a minute and then it came off very easily. Nair wax is a disaster however!
So DON'T BUY IT, YOU'LL REGRET IT!!!!
Simply whisk away hair with Nair Easy Wax Microwave / Once heated in the microwave, this natural resin wax is smoothed onto the skin in a thin layer coating even the shortest hairs to grip them firmly / It dries quickly to form its own strip, (so no more cleaning up of those messy cotton strips!) which is then pulled away to remove hairs completely from their roots, with clinically proven efficacy / Just smooth on the wax and peel it off / Itãs effective on even short hair (2mm+) and has a relaxing sensual fragrance / Waxing has never been so easy!
