Advantages: cheap, nice packaging

Disadvantages: time consuming, poor instructions

I purchased this home electrolysis kit, hoping to rid myself of the horrid task of bikini and underarm waxing.

The kit comes in a very handy and attractive purple carry case. Inside the components are all fixed, so that there is no need to take all the equipment out in order to set it up.

It comes with the following:

Electrolysis pen/tweezer
1 tube of conductor gel
Mains adapter (although there is no option to use batteries)
Electronic pulse pad (very similar to toning pads if anybody has used them)
Elasticated strap to hold pulse pad
Control box

When using the product for the first time, I found the instructions were not exact. It told me to spread the conductor gel or the area which I wanted to remove hair from and clasp each hair individually with the tweezers. A yellow light will appear on the control panel, once this has gone out the hair can then be pulled out and the root be dead!! Whereas I found that it took quite a while to get the yellow light to actually stay on, there is a technique you have to develop which is not mentioned in the instructions.

I have used the product approximately 3 times, and I must say it is useless. It is extremely time consuming, having to remove each hair individually. What else is worrying is that when the yellow light finally goes off a sizzling sound can be heard which is distinctly like that of burning hair! Not Good!!

Because it is so time consuming, unfortunately I have been unable to monitor if the hairs, which I removed, have gone permanently. As it is very difficult to cover a mass area!

the actual pain factor is slim, if you can handle plucking one hair at a time!

Although one of the cheaper products available, I purchased mine for £35, I think you would be better off investing or saving for professional permanent hair removal.

Oh yeah and if you run out of conductive gel it is quite expensive to replace, however
my mum has discovered (from using Rio Toning Pads) that hair gel works the same!!
