Advantages: easy to use, no pain, quick
Disadvantages: so far just one little one, that I have a bit of an itchy leg
Visiting the Norfolk Beauty and Body show on Sunday this week I passed a stall selling this product, which I'd previously seen advertised on a shopping infomercial type advert.
I'm normally a shaver, but I hate to do it, it takes forever, and really doesn't last very long. So I'm constantly on the lookout for something else! I even went so far as to try waxing, having heard so many people "wax" lyrical about it! But that just hurt way way way too much!
So when I saw the advert on the TV for sheer skin I honestly thought it was too good to be true. I've seen these exfoliating mitt things before that are supposed to leave you hairless in as painfree manner as possible. I was sceptical, but intruiged and then when walking round the show I saw the lady demonstrating and decided to offer up my stubbly legs for a test. I live in jeans so rarely shave unless I have to, so there was a fair amount of growth!
So she used my leg as a demo.
The way it works is with a kind of "wax on, wax off" motion. You rub fairly vigourously in circles one way and then back the other way in circles. I was amazed at the sheer difference between patches on my legs, it was fabulous, really smooth, and not stubbly. You do this on dry skin and then shower and/or moisturise afterwards.
So I was so impressed that I bought a set, it costs £20 (well £19.99) for about 18 months supply which seemed good value. I took it home and before I had my bath there I was "sandpapering" my legs as my boyfriend called it!
The result was fab. My legs were smooth and exfoliated and felt great.
The problem came later. I got in the bath which was a bit too hot and my legs tingled a little, and then when I got out I noticed I had a red itchy patch on my left leg. This eventually stopped itching, and I think I might have gone over the same patch too much which caused the problem.
So, I'm not going to throw it out just yet, but I shall be more careful
Summary: Be careful to follow the instructions and don't be too vigourous!
