Advantages: cheap, thick, foam, white, design

Disadvantages: can a little uninspiring

For a long time I have shaved my legs and underarms using lathered up shower gel but after coming across this very cheap shaving foam in Tesco I thought I would give it a shot.

I have bought a few things from the Tesco Value range before and had mixed experiences. I think with basic food like rice or pasta it does tend to taste a little cheap but if you are on a budget then it is a great way of cutting costs. If I have a little bit more money I'll avoid it and opt for something that tastes better. I've not really had much experience of their cosmetics other then their cotton wool which is actually rather good so I was keen to try this shaving foam.

The shaving foam comes in a standard metal can that you find most shaving foams come in. It has the rather distinctive and unappealing red, white and blue colours that we've come to associate with Tesco value. I find the design totally uninspiring and I definitely wouldn't display it in my bathroom but for shaving my legs it serves the purpose I need it for.

I usually give the can a little shake before using it. Then you simply squeeze the top of the can and out comes a classic white coloured foamy textured product. It comes out very easily, and has the right consistency that you'd expect from a shaving foam.

I usually apply this straight onto wet skin and then proceed to shave. I find the shaving foam very kind to my skin, I haven't had any irritation other than what you'd expect from shaving normally. I find it useful especially when shaving my legs as you can see which bit you've done already. If the razor is wet and you've liberally applied the foam then I find it does tend to wash off a little but otherwise I honestly can't complain.

Once I'm done shaving I have no issues washing off the remainder from my body or the razor. It does tend to float on the top of your bath water so you would want to make sure wash your hair prior to using this.

This shaving foam costs a remarkable 26p for an entire can (which has lasted me 3 months so far). I think this is incredible value and I'll definitely be buying regularly. I actually also think I prefer it to all singing all dancing shaving foams because I feel like this offers real value for money and doesn't claim to do a million and one things either.

Overall, the perfect shaving foam whether you are on a budget or not.

Summary: A great product from Tesco Value.
