Veet Easygrip Ready-to-Use Wax Strips
Advantages: Easy to use. Price okay.
Disadvantages: Doesn't remove all hair. Stickiness.
I have used various types of hair removal products in the past, including wax strips, and I have found them to be a real range in terms of their effectiveness. After seeing Veet Easygrip Ready-to-Use Wax Strips prior to going on holiday, I thought I would give them a try because if they worked then it would mean that I didn't need to shave for the duration of my holiday. I would ordinarily try to get a professional wax before going on holiday, but I really didn't have time to arrange that. A box of the Veet Easygrip Ready-to-Use Wax Strips cost me £5.00 from Asda which I was quite an acceptable amount to pay if they worked as well as the packaging said they would. The box contained both 20 wax strips and also 4 conditioning finishing wipes for used afterwards. There was a full product information leaflet inside the box which gave details regarding product usage etc. and this was comprehensive enough and easy to follow.
Using the strips were fairly easy. It was a matter of warming the wax strips between my hands for a minute or so, and then smoothing the wax strip onto the skin once it was slightly warm. The wax is stuck onto a piece of wax-proof paper and it's easy to smooth the wax surface down onto the skin where you want the hair to be removed from. It's then a matter of smoothly and quickly pulling the wax strip back off of the skin - hopefully bringing the hair with it. It was, of course, painful, but it was moderately painful and it was certainly manageable pain. My experience was that I needed to redo certain areas in order to ensure that all of the hair was removed. It did fine removing the finer hairs, but not so good at removing the thicker or courser hairs that I particularly wanted to be removed! It certainly wasn't perfect and my experience of hair removal creams is certainly better.
My skin was left quite sticky, even after using the finishing wipe. The wipe did remove some of the stickiness, but it did not remove it all.
Overall, I would place the Veet Easygrip Ready-to-Use Wax Strips at mediocre and I don't suspect I will choose to buy them again.
