Advantages: cooling sensation

Disadvantages: overpriced

As most people know, epilators hurt like hell and before I decided to not torture myself with it ever again, I tried a number of products to try and help the process be a lot less painful. The Veet epilator spray was one of them. Veet is a household name and is made famous for hair removal products; if anyone was to make a product to make epilating an easy task, these were the people.

==Price and availability==

The cost of this product is around £5.99 and it is available to buy from chemists or supermarkets.

==Description==

The little 40ml bottle of spray has a lid and a small pump action nozzle. The liquid is clear and has a slight aloe vera scent to it but it is subtle and hardly noticeable. The bottle is small for the money and I think it is rather overpriced. The ingredients are common and similar to the ones you would find in any cheap moisturising lotion. The product can be used on the delicate underarms, bikini line legs and arms. Once applied it dries leaving a white residue on your skin which is not good either.

==My experiences==

You can guess from my earlier statement that my epilator is redundant and this product did not work for me. The spray has all the promises but I think I still have a low pain threshold as I just could not cope with using it on a regular basis. I found the product easy to use, spray it on and let it dry. As it dries it does cool the skin but I would not go as far as saying that it numbs it. I got a faint tinkle sensation but still when it was time to run the epilator over my skin, it felt like a million hairs were being tweezered out at once and I was left with angry red legs. I think that the only thing to make this experience painfree would be to have a local anaesthetic rub like the dentist uses before an injection!

I guess it does make the experience less painful than without, my legs felt slightly tingly and relaxed but it was not enough to make me carry on using the product. I would advise anyone who is looking for a painfree solution to lower their expectations. If you want something to take the edge off then maybe you will find solace in this product. It has the advantage of being easy to use, quick and in an easy to apply formula that takes only a few minutes to dry. Obviously you need to do all the regualr preparations such as exfoliating and preparing the skin but this is a quick product to try and alleviate some of the unpleasantness of epilating. Unfortunately for me, it just is not enough and I felt like I had really wasted my money. I was quite cross that I had fell for the products promises and I felt let down.

Summary: not worth it.
