Advantages: Quick and easy to use, razor and shaving foam all in one.

Disadvantages: Expensive for replacement blades, not as close a shave as some other razors

Despite my love of Veet, regular use can mimic the effects of applying neat paint stripped to my skin and so I have to reserve my use of hair removal creams for special occasions, and special bodily areas. But fear not, I don't like to grow body hair long enough to plait a la Julia Roberts so my day to day defuzzing is done courtesy of my Wilkinson Intuition razor.

Every man I know seems to whinge at having to shave his face every other day and yet the same men seem to expect us girlies to have perfectly smooth, soft and hairless legs, underarms and, well, other places. Shaving with a razor and foam or gel is a bind so I was quick to purchase the Wilkinson Intuition razor when it first came onto the market a few years ago and I've never looked back.

Unlike other razors, Wilkinson Intuition has an inbuilt shaving cream which comes as part of the razor cartridge. This means there's no need for a separate cream, gel or foam and it makes quick defuzzing in the shower a simple and painless task.

The razor itself is quite bulky but after a few uses, I found it was easy to get used to grasping its shaft (why does that sound so much ruder than it should?!) The thicker handle makes it easier to hold in the shower and even with slippery hands it's easy to manoeuvre the razor over all the relevant body parts. The in built shaving foam creates a rich cream that also moisturises the skin and the overall result is silky soft skin in a matter of seconds.

Anyone who knows me will tell you what a clumsy oaf I am and, prior to using the Wilkinson Intuition, shaving cuts were a painful fact of everyday life. But since using this razor I've only cut myself on a couple of occasions, and those were only after having raved to friends about the Intuition Plus and it's inability to cut me. Some might call it sod's law or Murphy's law but I prefer to call it kitsch kitty's law. That said, the cuts I did manage to sustain were certainly a lot less deep, less painful an quicker to heal than those from a cheaper or less superior razor.

On the downside, the size of the razor and head does mean it's less precise when shaving more precise areas which could be a problem if you have intricately designed areas of body hair. If like me you prefer to go hair and care free, then it doesn't prove problematic. The other disadvantage is the cost of the replacement blades, although this is unfortunately a problem with all razor blades in my experience. A pack of 3 replacement blades costs around £5.50 in Boots but the blades do last me an average of 3 weeks each. Perhaps they only seem so expensive to me as I only recently depleted a massive reserve of replacement blades that I managed to pick up in Poundland last summer. When faced with having to pay the full price for my blades, I nearly fainted with shock. However, they aren't dramatically more expensive than other razor blade replacements and you are saving on having to buy a separate shaving foam or gel.

And finally, since I'm on a roll with the negatives, I do think the shave isn't quite as close as other razors I've used in the past. It doesn't leave any noticeable stubble but the results don't last as long as with some other razors.

If you're lazy, a girl on the go, or simply prone to cutting your limbs to shreds when shaving, then the Wilkinson Intuition razor is definitely worth a go. It's so easy to use in the shower or bath and makes shaving quick and painless, leaving you the time and effort to pamper yourself in other ways.

Summary: Shave and go.
