Advantages: All in one, good shave
Disadvantages: None
I had been using Wilkinson Sword razors for years and always been happy with them and so when this Intuition product was first released I didn't hesitate to give it a try. Although a normal version is available I opted for the sensitive care one as my skin easily dries out.
Packaging
These razors come in plastic packaging which I usually struggle to open. You can see on the back of the pack where the plastic is designed to be ripped open but I never find it this simple and a pair of scissors is normally involved before my razor is out and ready to use. The pack tells you that you get the razor handle and holder and one blade with soap head, spare blades are available separately.
Once you have you razor just add water
I tend to shave whilst I am having a shower and this razor is ideal for this as I don't have to worry about the shaving foam being rinsed off my legs before I've shaved. To use this razor you need it to be wet as this then creates a small lather with the soap as you shave as you would with any other razor. I find it easily glides over my skin and provides a good shave without you needing to press to hard on it. The razor head pivots as you use it and I rarely ever cut my skin with it. Shaving with this razor only takes a minute which is great when I'm in a hurry which is most of the time!
The soap includes Aloe and Vitamin E which is meant to moisturise your skin, I always use a moisturiser after I have shaved so I'm not sure how good the moisturising effects from this product are.
Changing the blade
I find that a blade lasts a few weeks with near daily use. It is usually the soap block which surrounds the blade running out that prompts me to change the blade. To remove the old blade you just press the 2 buttons on either side of the handle which releases it. I normally give the razor handle a good rinse out at this time as a certain amount of soap residue builds up underneath the blade. The new blade just slots into place on the handle and the razor is ready to use again.
Storing the razor
The razor comes with a plastic cap which protects the blade and prevents the soap getting on anything if you want to store it on it's own rather than in it's plastic holder. The tiles in my shower are quite rough so the plastic suction cups on the holder won't stick to them, this has prevented me using it and I choose to just stand it up in my storage rack.
Price and availability
This razor is currently available from Amazon for just £3.79, I think this is a great price for a really good razor. It is also available from Tesco and Sainsbury's.
Would I recommend?
Yes, if you want an easy to use all in one razor this is a great product. You don't need to worry about buying separate shaving gel which is a bonus and makes it much quicker to use.
Summary: A great razor from Wilkinson Sword
