Advantages: quick, easy, close shave, variety of heads to suit your skin

Disadvantages: soap runs out before blades go blunt

I first bought into the intuition brand less than a year after I started shaving which was about 8 years ago. Before this I had a skinny Venus razor with replaceable heads, but being young and naïve I didn't even use shaving foam which gave me some very red legs! One day my Mum bought me an Intuition razor which was a life saviour...the wonderful thing about Intuition is that it has solid soap around the triple blades which avoids the necessity of shaving foam and makes shaving a lot quicker and less messy.

My first one was in the old design which was a lot fatter than the current ones and I ended up replacing it after a year because when you leave things in the shower for long periods of time they get water inside and go a bit mildew-y and unpleasant. The tip for longevity is to towel dry your razor and shake all excess water out every time and possibly keep outside of the shower. If, however, you do keep yours in the bathroom then it comes with a very useful suction clip to hold it on the wall which saves space. Every few months mine falls off the wall and scares me, but it just goes back on.

I have gone through three of the bodies now and only buy them when they're on sale. Normal price in boots is between £5 and £7 and there are a variety of colours which correspond to which heads they come with: pomegranate, plus hydra, plus sensitive and sensitive. I've always gone for plus sensitive as I have very sensitive skin, although sometimes I buy pomegranate heads because they smell really great.

The soap on the heads lasts for me around 3 or 4 weeks depending on how often I use it. In winter they usually last a bit longer. I find that the soap runs out before the blades go blunt so if I'm on a budget I'll use shaving foam for a week or two after the soap runs out. The heads cost £6.59 in Boots at the moment for 3 heads and you can buy variety packs to find the head that's right for you. I always get mine in the sale and I've seen them as low as £3 for 3 in the past. At the moment though, I've tend to find them with extra in for the same price rather than on sale (e.g. four for £6.59 instead of three)

The razors are made by Wilkinson Sword so they're really good, but I wouldn't say they make me need to shave less often. I get a close shave because of the soap and they leave my skin feeling really soft. I would 100% recommend getting one of these if you're a regular shaver - makes it so quick and easy if you're in a rush.

Summary: ideal for people with busy schedules - avoids the need for shaving foam
