Advantages: None

Disadvantages: The biggest, they didn't do what they were supposed to

This products promises the creation of soft, easy curls using the basis on a straightening iron, but with curled plates which enable a better, more fluid result.

But personally, I've had nothing but trouble with these irons. I'm definitely far from a hair styling pro, but I could not achieve the curls I want or the curls which I should be able to get. I tried following their video help, and others, and yet couldn't easily get a hold of it, and just never got curls, no matter how hard I tired. And curling the ringlet tightly with your finger afterwards is a no no, it's too hot, and if you wait for it to cool down, it makes no difference.

They have quite a flimsy, cheap plastic look to them, sort of easily broken if bent too much. They buttons for temperature and on/off are right were you put your fingers which can result in an accidental turn off. There was no heat proof part to it in order to protect your hand from the irons throughout the long process, and the plastic could get quite warm, though not too hot or damaging. The existence of the metal plates meant that the process of curling your hair was a lot more 'fiddly' for were you then put your hands, which just added to the difficulty of using the irons 'correctly'.

I bought these originally for around £40, and on the pure basis that they didn't work for me and are now just sat in a draw, they were definitely not worth it. £40 is not expensive for some styling irons, but these irons even looked cheap - flimsy plastic with some metal. I couldn't possibly recommend these, even if more people than not got the great result they wanted, because they aren't that easy to use, and you can't guarantee a great result for £40.

Summary: Stay away - just to be on the safe side
