      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      I would recommend these if you have thin hair and want it poker straight but only in this case

      Initially, I bought these straighteners because of the new glass plates. I thought these would help control frizz and dryness. But boy was I wrong. These are definitely not suitable for thick wavy hair like mine. Unless you split it into about 100 sections. They are very suited to thin hair but cannot handle anything more. As soon as I used these I was disappointed. Especially having paid £50 for them. The comb just got stuck in my hair and tugged at it and it took half an hour just to get straighten a kink and even then it was still there. I cannot not tell you how disappointed with these I was. So I just ordered some GHD's. The only thnigs that actually do work on my hair.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Generally an excellent product - here's hoping the fault is a one off

        I have had my Babyliss straighteners just under 3 years and have been generally very pleased with them. They were very pricey when I got them at £84.99, however they are much cheaper now.

        These straighteners really do what it says on the box, my hair is naturally curly - however with this product I can get my hair poker straight and best of all it shines like glass!

        This is my second pair of straighteners and I must say I find these incredibly easy to use. Plug them in and turn them on, they have a very useful stand which the straighteners sit in, minimises the risk of burning something by just laying them on the side or on the bed. They heat up quickly and are soon ready to use.

        I have reasonably long hair (half way down my back), and can straughten my entire head of hair in around 15 minutes. I tend to use the highest heat setting - so can't comment on lower heat settings - they are however totally variable.

        However, the fuzzy, felty bit of material at the side of the hot plates that cause the hair to glide through smoothly has almost vanished. This is causing my hair to snag and break. These straighteners haven't had excessive use so I am a tad disappointed by this. I am about to send them back to Babyliss so I shall report back and update when I hear back from them.

        On the whole I have been very pleased with my straighteners it's just the above complaint that has ruined the Thermaglass experience.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Brilliant straighteners

          I used to have Remingtons CS3000/1001 straighteners. Unfortunately, they broke a couple of weeks ago. So I thought right, it's the sales surely I can find a bargain that will straighten my long locks and boy, did I!

          * Why these straighteners stood out from the crowd *

          The brand. As a brand, Babyliss make loads of different beauty products like curlers, hairdryer, foot spa, etc. Throughout my life, I've had a number of Babyliss' products and they have never failed me.
          The price. I would never go for the cheapest straighteners again but I can't afford to pay £100 (at least) for GHDs. I need quality at an affordable price. These were originally 44.99 but at Argos, they were reduced to £22.99. I know you can get these also on Amazon for £19.96 but did not want to wait a week to receive the straighteners.
          The Features. ThermaGlass. I've never seen this before. The word stopped me and made me look again at these straighteners. Also the choice of different temperatures is another reason why I considered it.

          I decided these were the ones for me so I went to the till and bought them. It was the last ones.

          * What does the ThermaGlass do? *

          They are ultra smooth and they are meant to glide through your hair for minimum of hair damage with high heat performance to produce the best results possibly.

          * Features of the straighteners *

          Temperature control 140ºC, 160ºC, 180ºC and 200ºC (I know it says on the ciao main specs that it doesn't have a different temperature control. I think they have it wrong because with this model, it does)
          Thermaglass plates 1 1/2" for medium to long length hair
          A small comb on one of the plates to guide your hair through the straightener more evenly
          Straightener stand to put the straighteners in while you're not using them
          3 year manufacturers guarantee
          3 meter cable

          * The look *

          They are a bit better than my old straighteners. They are black with a silver on the handle where it says Babyliss. On the side, there's a dial to change the temperature. Next to that, there's the on and off buttons. Also two lights at either side of the on/ offs. The one on the right is red which tells you that it's on and other on the left either flashes green, which means when the straighteners aren't at the maximum temperature that you set it on. When it's a constant green light, it means the straighteners are at maximum temperature and are ready to use.

          * The testing *

          My hair type: Dry, thick, curly/wavy and coloured

          First, I tried them on already dry hair. I'd been out all day and my hair was a bit frizzy from the weather so I thought lets try what my new straighteners can do. I plugged them in, switched it on, put it on the temperature that I wanted. Put the straighteners in the straightener stand, which comes in the box and 60 seconds for the light to turn green. I parted my hair like I normally do when I straighten my hair. I took a piece of my frizzy hair and let my hair glide through the straighteners. I was surprised that my frizz hair had turned into smooth, silk, straight hair just in one go. So I continued with the rest of my hair and was amazed with the results.
          I got the same results when I tried it with just washed hair.

          The best temperature to use the straighteners on for curly hair is the 200ºC but I'd recommend that only straighten your hair once a week on that temperature. 160ºC is perfectly fine just to get the little kinks out. The lowest temperature does nothing for my hair so I don't use it but I think that's a setting for people who already have straight hair and just want to get rid of the frizz.

          * Overall opinion *

          Brilliant straighteners. I don't think I would go back to my old normal even if I could. They are excellent value for money especially with the 3 years guarantee and the extra long cord really help you straighten your hair anywhere in the house.
