Before I start I should mention that I am/was a loyal GHD customer as such was very reluctant to try something different(major downpour while out shopping and had to borrow my freinds before a night out!) but was pleasantly surprised with this straightener. They seem a little bulky in comparison to my usual straightners athough they are quite easy to get used too.

I have quite fine hair but there is a lot of it, its layered and have a natural kink (frizz) that I previously though only GHD's could manage but these left my hair totally poker straight. Took almost no time at all, in fact I could have sworn it was GHD's that I was using. My hair was left lovely and shiney, in fact it looked really, really healthy! It was even straight when I woke up the next morning (a miracle)!

I particularly like the feature to adjust the heat as it feels like I can keep it just war, enough rather than burning my hair each time I use them. A feauture that GHD may wish to introduce to their products. The heat resistant mat is also really handy if your like me and have a habit of leaving burny hot straightners lying on the floor.

Now I have been using GHD's for at least 5/6 years and although I have replaced the set (I wanted the new ones) they have lasted exceptionally well. My mum is still using the old pair. Unfortunately I do not know anyone who has had the babyliss straightners for any length of time. So I cannot comment if they will last the test of time!

I can say though, that a lot of my friends feel that this product is superior to GHD! Me, however, I still love my GHD's but if they broke tomorrow I may just invest in a pair of these.
