I LOVE GHD's! This are definately the best hair straighteners EVER!
Sorry for the use of capitals but I just had to stress how much I love these! I have wavy, very thick, frizzy hair and hair straighteners are my 'cant live without' gadget! I went on a 3 day hike in the himalayas and even took them then, though I have to say I realised how stupid that was and didn't use them once!
These GHD's are the thicker straighteners designed for thick hair and they are much wider than the original GHD's which friends of mine have. I bought them from the official GHD website as they were an early christmas present from my mum and I was worried about buying off different websites and getting fakes. They were very pricey (£116) and that is a shame as they really are the best hair straighteners on the market (I have tried a few different types) and the price will put people off. I suppose they can afford to charge that sort of price because they are so good! Im sure you can get real ones of other websites for less though. I have had GHD's before but unfortunately they broke and I had tried to use Toni and Guys make of straighteners until christmas when I had asked for these as a present, but Toni and Guys were so bad and I missed these so much that I ordered them the other week as I couldn't wait till christmas!
I must point out that my old pair lasted me 7 years, from when I was 15 and they have been shoved into many a suitcase and rucksack and have travelled everywhere with me (I think this is why they broke!), so although they are pricey they can last for years.
They arrived the day after ordering and they came with a free heat protective case and some shampoo and conditioner. I was really impressed with the case, it is really nice, it's black with a white swirl pattern on the front and it has a white tassle attached to the zip, it's extremely useful to carry my straighteners to friends houses and protects the straighteners really well. I also keep it next to my mirror with the straighteners in as I burnt my carpet with my last pair (oops!). On the website you get to choose which shampoo and conditioner you want and I chose the 'replenishing' set. I thought they would be really small bottles as they are free but they are big bottles and will probably last a long time. Overall I was very pleased with the free gifts.
The hair straighteners themselves are even better than my old pair, they are black in colour and really sleek looking. They have an on and off button on the straighteners and when turned on a red LED light comes on and they beep, once heated up they beep again and the LED light flashes to let you know they are ready to use.
They heat up really quickly unlike other straighteners and get really hot, they glide through my hair straightening it with ease. They have ceramic heaters and aluminium plates which are supposed to be better for your hair and they certainly feel nice to use as they don't pull on my hair like other straighteners have. They straighten my hair really quickly and it stays straight for ages. You can also use them to put waves in your hair and curl your hair (these new designs are rounder to produce better curls) which I am yet to try with these, although I did do it with my last pair and they worked really well. They also have a built in sleep mode which is a safety feature that automatically turns your straighteners off after 30 minutes, when left unattended.
Overall I think these are brilliant hair straighteners and the best on the market, the shampoo and conditioner are excellent too but they are not in the Dooyoo catologue, I will be recommending them, so look out for a review soon!
Ask for these for your christmas present!
