For the majority of my life I've had very long hair. This is because I once experimented with having it cut short in the vain hope that I might look a wee bit like Sinead O'Connor. I did not. I looked like a boy with a bad hairdresser. Since then it's always been at least shoulder-length. My hair is very fine but there is an awful lot of it. Its natural state is that irritatingly obstinate one where it's not quite curly, but not nice even waves either. Straighteners are a must: without them my hair looks like it's standing up and cheering for Home Rule (which was one of my granny's favourite expressions). I'd been through quite a number of ... * INTRODUCTION.. * I have thick but naturally straight hair that is shoulder length and have used numerous pairs of ceramic hair straighteners over the years to maintain a sleek and straight hairstyle. I have found that ceramic hair straighteners usually fall into the category of "You get what you pay for", with cheaply-priced appliances often not being efficient enough to cope with my thick hair. It was several years ago that I started to hear great things about a range of ceramic hair straighteners called GHD, which I believe stands for "Good Hair Day." Initially put off by the over £100 price tag, I eventually succumbed about ... Read the complete review

I have had my current ghds for about 4 years, this is the 2nd pair I have bought due to me some how breaking the first pair which I was traumatized about and lead to quite a few bad hair days until I could get my hands on a new pair! I could not live without my ghds, they are a must have if my hair stands any kind of chance of looking good. I have naturally thick hair and if I don't have my straightners with me or don't have time to straighten my hair then I have to tie it up to avoid a bad hair day! The ghds are very versatile and can be used to create waves or curls aswell as straightening hair. I have not quite mastered how to do this quickly and well ... Read the complete review

I have used ghds for about ten years now. My niece managed to snap my first pair in half and my second managed to melt when I plugged them in on holiday. Alas, I found myself at the shops ready to buy my third pair. The only pair at the hairdressers were the IV styler and so, knowing al ghds are good, I snapped them right up. About the product Ghd stands for good hair days and that's what the brand promises to give you. The IV styler promises to straighten the hair, quickly and easily leaving your hair looking sleek, straight and beautiful. The product is also versatile as it can also be used to create waves and curls in the hair. It can be used on all ... Read the complete review

Firstly, you have to understand that I have an afro. And it isn't a cool one like Erykah Badu's; it makes me look like the villain in a low-budget horror movie. Thanks to these straighteners, this fact is only known to my nearest and dearest. Without them, nothing could tame my hair. When you start straightening with GHDs, it could take those with a 'fro about half an hour, separating the hair and ironing grouped hair etc. but after a while you can tame an out-of-control mop in a ridiculously short amount of time. Most of the people I have encountered with frizzy hair, myself included, agree that you can wash your hair with good conditioner, straighten it ... Read the complete review
