.* INTRODUCTION * .
I have for the past year or so been using Remington hair straightners these was actually given to me, and not bought, I was disappointed with these, as my hair was never straight, and was with kinks and frizz so tying it up was the only option at the time. So a couple of weeks ago I was browsing through the studio catalogue to see about treating myself to some new ones, after all I think I deserved it. I never really bothered with things like this, I have always tied my hair up no matter what, so buying hair straightners have never been something I needed or wanted, but when I went and had my done, they cut, blow dried and straightened it for me and looked very nice, so then I was wanting the straightners to do my hair myself.
.* ABOUT THE STRAIGHTNERS *.
Nicky Clark is top brand for hair care, and these caught my eye straight away. I needed a reassuring brand but cheap at the same time, I knew it would be a little difficult, but when these caught my eye they was everything I wanted. Normally I don't shop by brand names as I know they can be expensive but on this occasion I made an exception I didn't want something like my last ones, and to wasting money. I decided to order the Nicky Clark ones as they did look stylish, slim, and was cheap, and assuming because of the brand name they would deliver and do the work well.
They finally got to me a few days later after ordering them; I was excited, and happy that they were here. I noticed the box was very slim, so I knew the straightners was like that to, which was a good thing as my last ones, was pretty bulky. I opened the box, and slid out the straightners carefully; they were very slim, stylish and didn't look cheap, so I was happy, now for the testing. Removing all the packaging I then plugged them in, and within a few moments they was hot, it surprised how long it took, very quick.
Brushed my hair then began to run the straightners through my hair, they worked very well, didn't take long before my hair was straightened, looking soft, shiny and most importantly frizz free. There are different temperature settings that you can set for your own hair type, thin hair is normally a low setting, and thick hair which is like mine, you put on a high setting, so it glides and straightens with no kinks or bumps. You can see the temperature dial just at the back of the plates, the temperatures range from minimum to the highest being 230oc which is hot, so be careful when using them on a high setting.
The ceramic plates are a deep purple in colour and stand out, the straightners also features a ionic technology which enables you to have fizz free hair when straightening. The straightners themselves are black and feel soft to the touch, almost feeling like suede, easy to grip, slim, and comfortable to use. At the back of the straightners you will find a deep purple push lock button this enables you to lock the plates together when not using for better storage and to protect the plates for damage, push again to release them. The cord is quite long in length which is also a good thing especially if you tend to walk around when doing your hair like I do sometimes.
.* PACKAGING *.
The straightners come in a slim box with its picture on the front, and also Nicky Clark and colleagues using the straightners on people's hair. Also giving you a brief description of the product and what it does. It also shows you 5 stars being rate for this product on the top of the box and saying it is salon tested and has been approved, which I can understand why. Opening the box and tilting the box so that the straightners slide out, noticing that they were in a clear plastic bag, with the plug and cord hanging out the bag, cello taped at one end to keep it in the bag. Ripping off the bag carefully, I then noticed the plates are protected by bubble wrap on both plates, so was properly packaged up. The plug was protected with a hard plastic plug cover and tied so that the lead is tidy and neat. Make sure you take off all the wrapping before use. You will also be provided with a instruction booklet, which gives you information on how to stay safe when you are and not using them, and how to store them properly.
.*AVAILABILITY AND PRICE *.
I bought mine from the studio online catalogue, and for the cheap price of £24.99, you can buy these from places like Argos at a cheaper price at only £19.99, so grab them while you can. They are value for money and I am pleased with them.
.* FINAL THOUGHTS *.
These are so versatile, slim, cheap, and stylish and do what I want them to do, and what they should do. I am a happy bunny, I'm glad that I decided to buy these ones and glad that I haven't wasted my money on a product that doesn't work. I bought these to replace my old Remington ones, and I recommend these to anyone, and great as a birthday or Christmas present, even though they are cheap they don't look it at all. These are very lightweight too, so don't make your arm ache after a while of using them, like my other one did. I was a little weary of getting anymore straightners for my hair, as it is natural wavy, frizzy, and out of control sometimes too, these straightners sort all that out for me, and makes it shine, soft, sleek and most of straight.
