I love love love these straighteners!! I have used hair straighteners for years now and use them a few times a week, so I need a good pair and these have certainly lived up to that. I bought myself some GHDs, thought I would "treat myself" and splash out on the expensive supposedly best on the market range. However, within a few months I gave up on them, was not pleased with them at all. I managed to purchase these Remington straighteners for £40, what a bargain, and they are really excellent. The temperature gauge is really useful, it shows when they are up to temperature and enables you to adjust it. They heat up quickly and hold their heat perfectly. I also curl my hair with these with no trouble. The plates glide through your hair and the curved edge makes curling easy enough. Also at the end of the plates there is a bit for you to put your fingers so not to get burned, particularly if you are curling and twisting them. The only criticism is that the temperature buttons are on the top and you can accidentally hit them when you are using the appliance and holding it, without meaning to. Excellent value for money and reliable product. I have 2 friends with them and they also have had no trouble with them and are pleased with them.
As my first set of straightners were made by Remington I decided to stay loyal to the brand as they provided me years if shiny straight hair at a cheap price. Efficiency These straightners, as they are ceramic, heat up really quickly. They also have a digital guage on the side to tell you if they are up to temperature. Ease of use For straightening your hair these work pretty well. I have fairly straight hair anyway so they work really well. However I dont know how well they work with curly hair so be aware of this. Also if you want to curl your hair, its rather difficult, mainly because your chance of getting burnt is quite high and there is not much control over whether you get big ringlets or just wavy looking hair. Extras With this set of straightners you get a heat proof bag and a CD that shows you how to use the straightners to create new styles. The legth of the cord is generous, which is useful when you need to get to the nearest mirror to see yor handiwork. Problems Other than some of the problems listed above my only other gripe with it is that I seem to be always trapping my sleeves in the hinge. Its annoying as I often have to pysically pull my sleeve out. This doesnt happen often but it is annoying when it happens
I bought these straightners after the ones I had blown up on me (while halfway through straightening!!!!!). And so I had to promtly get some more, I refused to pay the prices of GHDs and they're not very reliable as after a year tend to blow. So i did some research and found these little beauties! They're Nano-diamond ceramic...which is better than plain ceramic plates. And they can use a range of temperatures from 130 degrees to 230 degrees which I think is great! They have a digital display and you can lock the plates in place for easy storage! Mine came with a heat protected bag and mat as well which is great! For £50 these straightners are amazing value for money!! And for some reason when you straighten your hair with them, it stays in...I straightened my whole head of very long and normally untamable hair yesterday for a job interview, and left my hair down when sleeping, and when I woke up this morning, my hair was still perfectly straight and didnt even need a brush going through it! Whereas with GHDs I found hair went frizzy and needed straightening again if you were going somewhere that evening which is an extra 30 minutes on top of everything else. I love these little beauts! :-D They're one of the best things I have ever bought, brilliant value for money, extra long plates so straightening time is halved. I would recommend to any girl (or boy!!) who may be looking for new straightners, definately recommended over GHDs which I have used in the past. They're easy to handle, and can reach temperatures of up to 230 degrees which is hotter tha GHDs too!! The only thing I can fault is when using the highest temperature, warm up time is around 40 seconds to 1 minute, but as I say this is only for the highest temp and they can be used within 10 seconds as they reach temps of around 150 within the first 5 seconds!! :-D 3m cord which means you don't have to be stood right next to the plug socket! As well as been extremelly fabulous, they're also pretty too which i think is also important!! And come in 3 different sizes depending on the hair type you have! Another bad thing I noticed, was that curling your hair isnt as easy with these as with the GHDs due to the shape of the casing around the plates, its still possible, but a different technique would be needed and i think it would take longer with these than GHDs. Go buy these, they're absolutely fabulous!!!!!!!
The fabulous floating plates, which are longer than on standard straighteners, boast a Teflon Nano-Diamond Ceramic coating for exceptionally high performance. Temperature is everything in a pair of straighteners and these offer you great flexibility with a temperature range covering 130¦C to 230¦C, which makes them ideal for all hair types. These straighteners also offer specifications such as a temperature lock function and a turbo boost button which will take them to full heat in just 15 seconds.
