“ Brand: Revlon / Type: Hair Straighteners „
This was the very first pair of straighteners I ever had, they were bought for me by my Mam and she paid about £40 at the time but this was a couple of years ago now.
The straighteners are a silvery grey and black in colour, they are made by Revlon and the Revlon name is on the top of them. The plates are ceramic and black in colour and above the plates on the outside of the straighteners there is a soft felt like piece of material which I presume is to make them glide through your hair easier.
The controls for turning the straighteners on and off are on the side and are two small black buttons, the straighteners heat up to 230 degrees and there is a black dial inside the legs of the straighteners which is numbered 1, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 although i'm not sure what these numbers are supposed to stand for except that the higher number you have them on the hotter the straighteners are.
The straighteners do take a couple of minutes to heat up which was never a problem to me but it seems compared to straighteners around now this is a long time, there is a red light on top of the straighteners which flashes when they are heating up and then stays on when they are up to temperature. The plates of the straighteners are slimline but aren't really very long which I have only realised after buying further straighteners, the top plate is rounded to allow easy curling.
The power cable for the straighteners is pretty long so I can reach the mirror easily and still have plenty of wire to move the straighteners about freely. The handle of these is also curved which again makes them easier to handle and comfortable to use.
These straighteners are easy to useand glide nicely through my hair, they always gave great results but the results did only stay for one day and I don't like straughtening my hair everyday so this was a drawback for me. These did always leave my hair silky and smooth but after a lot of use I found they were no longer heating up as to as high a temperature as they had originally and since my hair is so long and thick this meant it got harder to get a good result on my hair. I had to replace my straighteners when the temperature couldn't get hot enough to complete my hair any more.
As straighteners go these were great a couple of years ago but there are now much better on the market and even cheaper.
