BaByliss Curling Wand
by wellylass89
Babyliss 2285U Curling Wand.
I got this product bought for me as a Christmas present from my sister. I asked for it after a friend styled my hair with them for a night out. Now I really really struggled to find a decent wand/curler for my hair, mainly because it's down to my waist and other products although they worked I found ... larger barrels didn't give as tighter curls and they soon fell out.
Also it was sometimes quite fiddly to do myself with larger barrels and the length of my hair also made it difficult having to section each section of my hair twice which meant they soon dropped out.
So the product itself the handle is red in color and has a small display and two buttons. The two buttons are a + and - button which of course control the temperature which is displayed on the display. The product has 5 available heat settings which range from 140oC, 155˚C, 170˚C, 185˚C and 200oC.
The range of heat settings makes the wand suitable for a range of hair types, my hair is thin and I use it on the 170 degree setting as any higher and it damages my hair. Included with the want is a glove to protect your other hand when styling which is handy as I'm quite good at burning myself! The wand is easy to manover when working my way round my hair and because the barrel is slim I find it easier to wrap my hair around even with my hair being very long it still is very easy. It creates fantastic curls and I love it! They hold really well and look great.
Overall this product is fantastic and I think it's good value for money. It's easy to use and the range of heat settings allow it to be used on a range of hair types and it works on long hair! Read the complete review |

Babyliss You Curl
by Captainreview
I was given this for Christmas a couple of years ago and it was by far the worst curling product I have ever used!
To start with the instructions really weren't clear - this isn't like a normal curling tong or any other curling product and you have to twist it through your hair in just the right way.
I couldn't get the hang of ... it for ages and was getting really frustrated as the instructions were so unclear. In the end I looked it up on youtube. However, even when I used it correctly and managed to get it to curl my hair properly, I wasn't impressed with the results. The curls looked old-fashioned and didn't last long at all (although that may be a good thing!).
After trying it a couple of times, I was so unimpressed that I contacted Babyliss Customer Services who eventually agreed that as I could exchange it for another product.
I returned it and chose their thermo roller set instead which I received 5 weeks later. The roller set was about £10 cheaper and Babyliss agreed to send me £10 of products to make up the difference but they never did.
(Sorry if this seems to be slightly off-topic but I want to make people aware in case they want to return this too!)
Anyway although I now have the replacement product, I would never buy anything from Babyliss again. Read the complete review |

Babyliss Thermo Ceramic Heated Hair Rollers
by Captainreview
I have had this product for about 3 years now and I still use it regularly. I received it after buying another Babyliss curling product which I didn't like, so Babyliss let me exchange it for this one.
These are great if you're getting ready on a Saturday night and have a bit of time. You need to wait for the rollers to heat up (a ... spot at the front changes colour to tell you they've reached the right temperature) then you need to put the rollers in, clip them in place using the pins/clips provided, leave them to cool and then remove and style your hair.
I usually wash and roughly dry my hair and put them in whilst my hair's still a bit damp so it curls better, but you can also use them on dry hair. I spray a bit of hairspray over mine too.
Little tip - make sure your hair is completely cool before you remove the rollers and play with your hair! Otherwise it will go really frizzy. I sometimes remove the curlers while they're still slightly warm but then let my hair cool before I separate the curls with my fingers.
The great thing with this product is that because the rollers are all different sizes you can choose whether to use the smaller ones for tight curls or the larger ones for looser waves. The pins and clips mean the rollers stay in place easily and the curls last all night too.
The only negative is that you do need to allow at least an hour (preferably more) by the time they heat up, you put them in, leave them a while (although you can do other things whilst they're in) and then take them out. They're not like a curling tong where you can quickly switch them on and do a few curls.
But overall I'm impressed and would recommend them. Read the complete review |
