Andrew Barton Making Waves Triple Barrel Hair Waver
Advantages: Looks nice
Disadvantages: Expensive, doesn't work
I bought this last year after christmas as i got an argos voucher for £30. I had seen this advertised on tv and after seeing it was Andrew Barton i thought i would give it a try. I love experimenting with my hair and trying to find new looks. I sometimes struggle with my hair in the summer as it goes frizzy and static very easily.
When i got home i wanted to try this out straight away, in the box were the instructions and plenty of protective packaging to protect the hair styler. It's black, pink and silver and looks very girly and stylish. It has different heat settings for different thickness of hair, 1 being the lowest and 9 being the hottest. I had mine on 5, my hair is only thin but it is very stubburn and sometimes difficult to manage. There is a small rotating stand to use so it doesn't burn any surface when you are not using it but it did occasionally get tangled in my hair.
I read the simple instructions which said to part the hair, use small sections at a time and hold the styler in place for no more than 10 seconds. As i started doing this round the back of my head, starting at the bottom, i realised that it gives massive waves in your hair and that my hair was going to end up huge. I carried on until i had finished my hair and it looked awful. The waves were too big, my hair was frizzy and looked like i had just stuck my fingers in a socket. I used some hair spray to try and calm it down and to comb it into place but it didnt help. I ended up having to wash my hair again and decided to stick with curling it with my straighteners. I was very disappointed with this and wish i hadn't bought it. Unless you have long hair to weigh it down and that can cope with such big waves, it really isn't worth spending £30 on it.
Summary: Too expensive for what it does
