Argos Curling Tong
Advantages: Very cheap, work well
Disadvantages: Not as safe as some others
I bought these curlers at Christmas, as I'd wanted a pair for a while. I would normally never have thought that curling tongs this cheap could be decent, but I was recommended them by a colleague so I decided to give them a try.
Price wise, these were a miniscule £3.73 so although I wasn't expecting miracles, I also didn't mind giving them a go at that price!
I used the Argos online reservation system to reserve these curlers, which was extremely quick and easy to do. You don't have to pay online, you pay on collection, so if you change your mind about your purchase then you simply don't go and collect it from the store.
After reserving online I went to collect the curlers from my local Argos, which was equally as simply and easy. I had a reservation number so I just typed it into one of their payment machines and paid for my order, before collecting it from a collection point.
The curlers came in a really basic box, and contained just the curlers and a small instruction leaflet. The actual curlers are comprised of the black handle area which has an on/off switch on it and the silver barrel. The barrel has a clip on it which you clip the hair to, before wrapping it round the barrel and creating a curl.
They look very basic (which is of course what I expected) and have a basic functionality of a simple on/off button.
When plugging them in they take about ten minutes to heat up. Once heated you can begin the curling process, each curl takes about a minute to do. I was really happy with the curls I created with these tongs, and they were just as good as more expensive models I have used in the past. The barrel is the right width to create a good size of curl and the curls 'set' really well, they don't just fall out straight away.
Over all I am chuffed I bought these, as they saved me a lot of money and they work perfectly.
The only small complaint I can think of it that they are very easier to burn hands on, as they are extremely hot, but don't have much of an area on them which is safe to touch. The black handle bit is ok but the black bit on the end and the clip section get extremely hot (like probably as hot as the barrel itself. However as long as I am careful these are a great product! Highly, highly recommended if you want some basic, useful curlers!
Summary: Highly recommended, fab curlers
