I would reccomend this product for crimping and curling

This was an good buy for my teenage daughters birthday. She really loves it and I also think its fantastic too. You can create a good variety of different hairstyles such as Crimping, big loose curls, spiral curls, bob curled under style and a few more. we did both think though that the straightener part was a bit of a let down and not as good as other branded straightener that we use. It does take a good 5 to 10 minutes to heat up properly and get hot and also there is no indication of when it will be ready to use. obviously you have to wait until its cooled down to change the styling head too which takes 10 minutes. The curls didn't stay in for that long either so I had to use quite a lot of hairspray to ensure the curls stayed in for the day.

      4 stars

After buying my daughter a really rubbish crimping set which was on the verge of being useless, I decided to buy her a better quality one rather than a gimmicky one. On my search online for a decent one, I came across the Babyliss 12 in 1 styler for £32 on Amazon. I found this particular set appealing as it had other styling tools which between us we could use. It seemed much better value than what I would pay for a crimping tool, so I happily purchased it.

When it arrived I was immediately impressed, it felt durable and of a good enough quality that it would last. I was also impressed with the heating element of the styler, I have had previous experience of heating tools which have been poor quality and haven't heated up too well, but this one seems to heat quickly and to a high intensity too, meaning the styles (no matter which you opt for), will stay put for longer, and it won't take as long to style the hair in the first place.

The various styling tools that come with this styler, means that you really can style your hair however you want. We had lots of fun messing around the first night we got it, with a mixture of straight, crimped, big curls and little curls we looked slightly demented, but we laughed so much!
Babyliss are slightly cheeky in naming the product a 12 in 1 styler, when really it is an 8 in 1 styler! There are 8 attachments and 4 hair clips, which to me does not make it a 12 in 1 styler, sorry Babyliss but I'm knocking one whole star off for that one!
      Included in the box is:

      1 x BaByliss Pro Ceramic Multi-Styler
1 x 38 mm ceramic straightening plates (for a smooth sleek shiny finish)
1 x 38 mm ceramic crimping plates (adds long-lasting texture in the hair)
1 x 13 - 16 mm ceramic coated dual barrel (for natural looking curls)
1 x 13 mm ceramic coated barrel (for tighter curls)
1 x 16 mm ceramic coated barrel (for perfectly defined curls)
1 x 19 mm ceramic coated barrel (for looser curls and waves)
1 x 19 mm spiral sleeve (for spiral curls)
1 x 19 mm brush sleeve (for shaping and styling)
4 x Professional hair sectioning clips

The styler uses ionic technology, which basically works to reduce frizzy hair and static, providing a sleeker and smoother finish. I don't usually tend to believe half of the promises such as these, but I have noticed a reduction in frizz when using this styler, and although it doesn't last all day, my hair does appear noticeably smoother when I have used this styler. Although I bought this styler primarily for my daughter, I will only use it on her hair very infrequently such as for parties etc. This styler isn't the best for fine hair (which my daughter has), as it tends to make the hair look quite flat and lifeless, even a little lank, so if you do have fine hair, you need to stay clear of the roots with this styler.

The ceramic coating of each of the accessories, means it will add a high shine finish to the hair and it will heat quickly and up to 200 degree heat.

All in all, aside from the cheeky attempt at making it sound better than it is, this is a really good styler. The hair straightening plates aren't on parr with GHDs so I tend to not use this accessory, but everything else is fantastic.

A great value styler - that covers all hair styles easy to change the functions

Babyliss Pro Ceramic Multi Hair Styler

A hairdressing miracle, one of the best inventions there is. My daughter is coming up to 11, and like the rest of her friends, all want the hair stylers, and the GHD's, (who doesn't want a nice set of them!!).
I brought it last year for my daughter's birthday, as she was 10 and did I realise that was double digits, and she was growing up.

      =What does it do=
This is literally everything in one, from tongs, spiral tongs, crimper, straighter and heated brush.

      =The Secret=
It is primarily a pair of tongs, but has all the additional attachments, so that you can swop around to achieve different styles. according to the box, there is a total of 12 different styles from one handy styler/

I was really impressed with the price is was £29.99, I brought mine from Argos, but it was stocked in Boots, and Amazon as well.

      =Box of Tricks=
It was literally like a box of tricks, when we opened it, - the bulk of the items was the Multi styler base, this is corded and runs off electricity.

      -Instruction Booklet and warranty card.

      =Ceramic Straightening Head=
I find that we tend to use this generally, it is a good sized straightener and you can work this from root to tip, with ease.

      =Ceramic Crimping Head=
This gives a lift to my daughters hair and some volume especially near the roots, you could easily spend some time crimping all over.

      =Ceramic barrels=
There are three ceramic barrels with the set,
13mm - this is the smallest and brings a tight curl to your hair, it reminds me of a 80s shaggy dog perm
16mm - this is the middle size - this gives a medium curl, one that could be used loosely as a twist
19mm - This creates the tumble curls and does give great volume to anyone's hair. (8-s style - A Farah Fawcett style flick from Charlie's Angels days)

      =Hot Brush Sleeve=
This is great if you want a boost at the root of your hair, a brush through to give a bit of added bounce or if you wanted to create a flick under, then this would be the best for you.

      =Plastic Spiral Twist=
This is one of my favourite attachments, as it gives a light spiral to your hair, and if you have flat hair, it gives some added volume.

      = 4 Plastic grips=
There is also 4 large plastic grips. included in the box, these are great for sectioning pieces of the hair away so you can work on the part you need.

Once you have decided on which attachment to use, the dryer heats up in about 15 to 30 seconds, I find the plastic heats up that bit than the ceramic, but nothing that is noticeable.

It has a 36 Watt. and a top heat of 200C, - so you do need to be careful where you put it whilst heating.

      =Ease of Use=
It is easy to use, it has a swivel cord so you can turn the styler around to be able to do any part of your hair.
For us, I moderate the time that my daughter can use this on hair, it averages about once a month, we're may have a styling day and a daft hairstyle or were going somewhere and she wants a different style., it was brought also as an investment, so that she learns to look after her hair, and that it is a good brand that will see her through.

This may sound picky as I only paid £30, but I would have really liked to seem a small pouch to keep the attachments in and a cool mat, - I know you can pick the mats up cheap enough, that's just me.

      =Would I recommend=
I would highly recommend this styler, it is really value for money, and excellent quality, all the attachments are of a good quality feel and for anyone your really get your money's worth from it.

      A good buy

      **What is it?**

The Babyliss Pro Ceramic Multi Hair Styler is a tong like no other! In fact no, it's not a tong (well, sometimes it is, it's also a tong, a spiral tong, a crimper and a straightener! It's a one stop shop for all your hair styling needs and it also has interchangable barrels so you can make 12 different stylers all with the one base unit!

      **Why did I buy?**

I bought it just for it's sheer versatility, and for the fact that it's ceramic and gets to 200 degrees celcius, a good heat for my hair which is sort of wavy and pretty much takes on any style without crazily high heats.

      **Price and Availability**

The Babyliss Pro Ceramic Multi Hair Styler is available from Argos for £29.99 and on Argos.co.uk (P&P applies though you can click and collect). You can also buy it on Amazon with free delivery or in many high street electrical retailers and independent online stores.

      **What's in the Box?**

You get the Babyliss Pro Ceramic Multi Hair Styler base with plug, an instructional manual, warranty card and the following attachments:

      13, 16 and 19 size ceramic barrels
      A ceramic straightening head
      A ceramic crimping head
      A hot brush plastic sleeve
      A spiral twist plastic sleeve

You also get four sectioning 'crocodile' black plastic clips like they use in the hair dressers' to help you with getting an even style.

All feel good quality and have the Babyliss logo.

It's very easy to use, just select the head you want to use (or barrel and optional sleeve) and switch on, within 10 - 15 seconds it's ready to use, it's very fast heating at 36 watts and 200 degrees celcius. The attachments are easy to use and the base has a rotating swivel cord so no tangles!

I will go through the list above with notes on how I've found use of each of the attachments:

13, 16 and 19 size ceramic barrels - the 13 makes very tight ringlets and it's probably the one I've used least. It would probably suit someone with thicker hair than mine as it looks a bit schoolgirly on me. The 16 is a smaller curl suited to pre curling for updos, and for use with the attachment sleeves, and the 19 for me is the one I use the most as it creates more tumbling soft curls when brushed through and gives great volume.

A ceramic straightening head - I straighten my hair often and this is a nice wide straightener which you can get close to the scalp and in one pass straightens the hair leaving a nice sheen.

A ceramic crimping head - back when I was younger it was all the rage but now I only use the crimping head when I need mega volume for an updo, for example around a large donut ring bun shaper. It works well.

A hot brush plastic sleeve - great for if you don't have much time, it gives volume at the root and turns the end of the hair under for a great everyday look.

A spiral twist plastic sleeve - this gives a nice spiral effect to the hair which needs softening a little but when tied up into a high pony always adds something new and complimentary without looking too try hard.

      **Any Downsides?**

I would have liked to see a long corkscrew curl tong, as currently I use a seperate one but for the money you can't really argue. Also, a way to change the temperature would again be handy but it's not a biggie.

I'd have liked to get a storage case or a heat mat with this set, I've had to buy these seperately from Amazon, not a huge niggle but with a set with so many small parts, essential!

Yes, for £29.99 and the results it gives it's a great styler, the Babyliss Pro Ceramic Multi Hair Styler is a great little set, with so many uses and fab for travel, too. It would make a great gift too :)

I'll give it four out of five, losing the one star just for the lack of a case really but it's a high 4 - think of it as a 4.5 even - because I really am glad I bought this and I think it will last me a decent amount of time.
