Advantages: Lovely soft natural curls for a reasonable price
Disadvantages: Can burn you easily if you don't protect yourself with the gloves provided
I decided to buy this curling wand after my hairdresser used it on my hair, It look so easy and the curls were amazing, so natural and beautiful styled!
I decided to buy the hot pink one, as I was so intrigued by the colour as it was so girly! It has 25 heat settings for different hair types, I have quite fine hair so I put it on 2-4 on the temperature scale, but it does go up to 25 which is good for afro/Caribbean hair types. The curling wand comes with a heat proof mat and weird gloves that you use for one thumb and finger to protect your hands from the heat as you have to get extremely close to the iron and can easily burn yourself without wearing them.
I think this curling wand is wonderful, the curls are natural and look gorgeous! When I first got it, I found it really difficult to use and was quite tricky trying to get your hands in the right places, but after a little practise you do get the hang of it and will find it incredibly easy! I do recommend using the little gloves to protect your hands, as I tried to use the wand without them and ended up burning my fingers multiple times, seeing as how close you have to get when wrapping the hair around the barrel.
The only downside would be that its easy to burn yourself and its hard to curl your hair if you have straightened it previously. So I also recommend washing your hair before and not using any products until curling your hair, otherwise this could effect the curls and not be as effective as you would like them.
There are two sizes of this wand, There is the slim barrel 13-25mm and there is the wider one 19-32mm. I use the wider one, just because I have quite long hair and find that the bigger barrel that it creates bigger more natural curls. I bought the curling wand for about £35.00. The price does tend to range from £25 - £60 also depending on what the size the barrel is. I think the price is fairly reasonable but I wouldn't pay as much as £60 just because I spent about £100 on my hair straighteners recently.
Overall a fantastic product that creates big beautiful natural curls.
Summary: Wonderful curls!
