My 11 year old daughter is obsessed with anything to do with her hair. Straightening, curling, crimping...she does it all. Yes, her hair is going to be ruined by the time she's a teenager, but everything she does looks great!!
The latest trend amongst their age group seems to be crimping their hair. The bigger the better, it seems, and Babyliss hair crimpers do the job perfectly.
===Ease of Use===
The crimpers have a lengthy cord with mains plug attached which is handy to stretch to the mirror from the nearest plug socket. This makes using them so much easier than other hair appliances we have that have a short cord on them.
They couldn't be much more simple to use - they are plugged in, switched on and are literally ready to use. They heat up super quickly, within a minute they have reached the required temperature and are ready to begin styling. There are 3 different heat settings available - low, medium and high temperatures. My daughter has long, thick hair so she just uses the higher setting. The other settings would be good for anyone with finer hair or for anyone wanting a more subtle look.
The main advantage I find with these crimpers is the breadth of the ceramic heating head. It's lovely and wide, approximately 3 inches, which means a full head of hair can be crimped very quickly.
After just 10 minutes my daughter had fully crimped hair which looks great. Obviously, crimped hair is not to everyone's taste. I must admit that I'm not keen on the look, but these crimpers worked fantastically, and the results lasted right until the morning, with no assistance from hairspray or mousse.
===Value for money===
At £25 from Argos, I did actually think this appliance was quite expensive for what it was - however, it was a birthday present so I was willing to pay a little more. The crimpers have had good use, work extremely well and haven't cause any problems in the 6 months we have had them so I'd say we've had our money's worth! If I'd managed to buy them on special offer I may have been slightly happier of ourse, though!
A highly recommended product for anyone who wants well-crimped hair with staying power...and wants it done quickly!
I am sure that you have noticed from my reviews, that I love hair products and styling my hair, its really relaxing and I love it when my hair has just been freshly styled or looks nice.
I decided to do something a little different with my hair, as everyone was doing wavy or straight styles a while ago and bought myself these Babyliss Crimpers.
I found these crimpers really easy to use, they aren't too bulky and are very easily managed. They have ceramic plates and do not tug or pull at your hair when you are using them which can reduce the amount of split ends you get, though it would be advisable to use a heat protection spray on your hair when you are using these.
These crimpers can be heated up to 210 degrees, it doesn't take too long to crimp hair with these because of this. Also it doesn't take ages for these crimpers to heat up, the box says that it takes 1 minute, though I would almost say that they take less time, mine are always heated in no time, which is a big plus in my opinion.
There is a nice safety feature on these crimpers, they switch themselves off after being on for just over an hour, thankfully I have not ever tested this as I haven't left them on by mistake for a long time before, however it is nice to have the peace of mind that they will switch themselves off if I left them on by mistake.
I bought my Babyliss Crimpers in Argos for around £20, which is a great price in my opinion as they are very sturdy and have lasted me almost a year already, and even though I do not use them every day, I at least use them 4-5 times a month, and they haven't failed me yet. There is a 3 year warrenty on these crimpers, so if they break, you can send them back to Babyliss and they will either fix them or send you out a new pair.
I really like the crimping effect that these crimpers gives my hair, it is quite nice and a change from straight hair. I like to crimp my hair with these stylers sometimes when I am going out or going somewhere nice. The crimps that these crimpers produce aren't overly tight, they are more spread out than other crimpers I have used before, making the crimps look more modern and stylish looking in my opinion.
Overall I think that these are a great pair of crimpers, they are easy to use and they heat up quickly to a very hot temperature, meaning it doesn't take ages to style your hair and also they are very reasonably priced. Overall I would give these crimpers 5 out of 5 stars.
