GHD Anti-Static Hair Brush
Advantages: Stops the worst of static in my hair
Disadvantages: Too soft for an everyday brush
I have GHD straighteners which I love but I had no idea that the company also did hairbrushes as well until my sister gave me her GHD brush in a bag of goodies that she had no more use for. I am always losing brushes (or having them stolen by my daughter) so I was really pleased and even more so when I found out that it was actually an anti-static hairbrush.
Apparently the brush bristles have been coated in a special ionic powder to make hair less staticy when brushing and styling.
The bristles are quite soft and I do find that I need to brush quite vigorously to get them through my hair but other than this I love everything about the brush.
I only really use it when blow drying or straightening due to the soft bristles but it really does make a noticeable difference when it comes to stopping my hair from becoming flyaway and static and as an added bonus it also seems to make my hair look more glossy and bouncy.
The brush is comfortable to hold and I can wrap my hand around it to be able to get good traction on it and be able to reach the back of my hair with no problems. It is also easy to wrap my hair around the brush to be able to attempt to make my hair wavy rather than poker straight and for this it is also really good as it makes the my hair less poker straight and more wavy but without looking untidy and frizzy.
My favourite way of using it though is when I am blow drying my hair as I think it really does make a world of difference with stopping my hair from sticking up all over the place and helps keep it neat and tidy looking. If I take my time and use the brush properly then I can actually usually get away without the need for straightening it but this is only if I am wanting a more natural wavy look to my hair but it does stop those fine fly away bits from sticking up in random areas of my hair.
Overall I really like this brush. It isn't a brush for just brushing hair and is definitely more for just styling but it does a really good job of stopping the worst of the static and making styling easier. I do have to use another brush for vigorous brushing but this is always the brush I go to when it comes to blow drying and straightening and I would happily buy myself one if I needed to replace it.
