GHD Gold Classic Hair Styler
Advantages: Their heat - They are really hot and straighten your hair in no time!
Disadvantages: Cost - They are really expensive
First of all, is there any need to keep bringing out new GHD stylers? Pink ones, purple ones, blue ones, some with free bags, the list seems endless. To me, a GHD styler is the same as another GHD styler. They are extremely high-end straighteners ranging between £99 and £119 depending on where you buy from.
I have naturally thick, curly and very long hair (a.k.a a hairdressers nightmare!) and for years I've been putting off buying GHD's for the same reason, the price. I have previously owned Babyliss PRO-230 straighteners and used them religiously every day for several years until they broke. Then, for my birthday I received Umberto Giannini straighteners and I must say I was very disappointed at their quality considering the hefty price tag of £89. It was then when I realised that maybe I should follow my friends, family members and hairdressers advice and splash out on some GHD's...
I bought them off ebay for £109, but I was assured they were authentic and they would come with a 'certificate' of some sort proving this fact. Overcoming the excitement of opening the box and getting through the several layers of bubble-wrap, I uncovered the straighteners. It felt like Christmas Day, getting the present you've desired and wanted for several weeks until they finally arrived. They arrived in a professional black and gold box. For £109, the only extra I received was a 'handy' booklet on how to style your hair, a needless piece of paper advising me how to use them in the correct manner, as if the world had never seen a straightener before.
I never thought I would buy any GHDs, but plugging them in and using them for the first time made me feel like I've suddenly found out what the hype was surrounding them. I had finally found out the answer to wanting perfectly straight hair, styled in a way that not only looked healthy, but it looked great too. As I only wash my hair once a week, it used to take me several hours every few days to straighten my hair, now it takes an hour, once a week.
I must admit to being very cautious before I bought them, but I threw caution to the wind and settled on the best purchase I bought with my student loan. I would advise anyone to buy them, who like me was thinking twice about the purchase. I could finally look forward to straightening my hair!
Summary: Overall, these straighteners are definitely worth the money. Buy with confidence!
