GHD Gold Classic Hair Styler
Advantages: Straightens hair to perfection, easy to use, safety timer to avoid any accidents
Disadvantages: None so far!
I've been a user of GHD straighteners of various generations and styles for the past five or six years. I remember well when I got my first pair after every other female around me was shouting GHD this, GHD that. Eventually I decided to take the plunge and buy a pair, and I would never look back!
The straighteners really do give a "hairdresser finish". With their soaringly high heat, your hair is poker straight in seconds. Personally, my hair is very naturally curly, and I found other straighteners often took a lot of effort and re-straightening until my hair would sit at all nicely. With GHDs, you can have perfectly straight hair that will last within ten minutes.
I know one of the main concerns people have before purchasing these straighteners is the heat and the damage it could cause. Throughout my years of using these, I haven't felt my hair has been any more damaged than it would be with other, slightly cooler straighteners. Make sure to use a heat protection spray and your hair should stay in fab condition.
The design of the straighteners is very good, as someone as careless as me has a habit of both nearly burning myself, and leaving the straighteners on. Unless you physically go to the effort of putting your skin against the hot plate, it is near impossible to burn yourself which I find very useful! Also the straighteners have a safety device so they turn off if they aren't used for a certain amount of time (I think it's between twenty and thirty minutes).
I've yet to have a pair of my GHDs break on me, and when I get a new pair it's just an upgrade or a desire for a different size! I would say the straighteners are therefore very reliable.
Overall, a pair of GHDs is definitely a worthwhile investment for any woman (or man) who has a desire for perfect, poker straight hair that will stay put at least until the rain comes tumbling down. I highly recommend them to anyone with very curly or wavy hair, as in my experience they are fantastic for this hair type!
Summary: GHDs are the best straighteners you can buy and they are completely worth the money!
