Decent drink mixer but not if you want it for milkshakes

First of all, this thing is made out of plastic and has a very flimsy/cheap feel to it. If you're looking for a nice nostalgic piece to put in your kitchen this is not it -- this machine screams "CHEAP!"

As far as functionality... it's just OK. It can BARELY make a milkshake, but it's excellent if you work out a lot and need to mix up a drink with protein powder.

You'll want to hold the machine as it mixes since it isn't very reliable as far as stability because of the plastic material. Also make sure not to put too much liquid inside of the cup, or you'll get a nice surprise of liquid EVERYWHERE!

Hamilton Beach makes some nice products, but overall I would say avoid this one. We gave this machine to a friend shortly after getting it since we really wanted a nice milkshake machine and this thing just wasn't cutting it.

A blender can make milkshakes faster, so I say skip this product.

My mother had this Hamilton Beach mixer to use for when we wanted milk shakes. I will say that it made great milk shakes, but honestly, your blender can do the same thing. My question is why you would want to clog up your counter even more if you can just use one appliance for many things?
The milk shakes that we made were easy to make and were fast to prepare. I remember that it came with a little recipe book that did contain some good recipes that I would have never thought of.
The machine itself was easy to clean so I can not complain about that. But you could only make one good sized milk shake at a time, where with a blender you can make a few. I came from a bigger family so by the time the last person got their milk shake, the first ones had melted. If you live by yourself this would be a nice milk shake maker to have but it is definetely not for big families.
