Advantages: Esay to use, safe to use, not to loud when in motion, makes cooking efficient
Disadvantages: None from me
I mentioned in my review the other day how I could not really live without my little blender, even though I have a rather large food processor. I am now going to make the same statement about my hand held food mixer, I would be lost without that, even though as I mentioned, I have a food processor. The hand mixer is so quick and easy for mixing up ingredients when I am in a hurry and whilst I still love my large food processor, I tend to only use this when time is not so much of the essence. The product that I am going to be reviewing today is my Kenwood HM327 Satin Chrome Hand Mixer, here are my thoughts.
The hand mixer as I am sure you can tell from the name is a Kenwood one, the mixer was actually suggested in the information that came with my Kenwood Chef food mixer, this was not the sole reason for my purchase but things like price and specifications were also just what I was after. The hand mixer cost me around the £23.00 mark which I think was a really reasonable price to pay. I got this from the Amazon website, I did have a little look elsewhere online but I have always been pleased with the level of service provided by Amazon so must admit I didn't look too hard!
The Kenwood Hand Mixer came with a one year manufacturer's guarantee as well as a detailed instruction booklet. The hand held mixer looked quite easy to set up and operate. You are given the main body of the mixer as well as 2 stainless steel blades. The mixer is a brushed chrome colour and features the Kenwood logo on the side. The mixer is powered by a 250w motor and there is a good amount of electrical cord that gives you good flexibility with the appliance. There is also a cord storage feature which is handy and also makes the appliance really safe.
The three different speeds are specifically for folding, mixing and whisking. I have had a go at using all three of the settings and been quite impressed with them. The main thing that I use my mixer for is making cakes and baking. I first used this for making a simple batch of cupcake mix and was pleased with the efficiency that the product showed. I also liked that it was not too loud when it was in motion. The next thing that I tried when using the whisk was making some filling for a lemon dessert, it was made in no times, whereas if I had used the food processor it would have been the time it took to get the food processor out and then put away again.
The attachments that come with the mixer are safe to take out and you know that they have been put back in again correctly as you will hear a distinct click. When it comes to cleaning this is also really good as not much effort is required as the attachments can be soaked in warm water or placed in the dishwasher.
I have nothing but praise for this product. I like that this is great if you are in a rush as it is one of those products that is really quick to use, I have used it to make a quick batter before and I have it made in seconds as well as a couple of whisk up desserts. If you are someone that is struggling for kitchen space then this also maybe the option for you as it takes up minimal room in my cupboard. Even on the folding motion when I have made cakes, this still seems to be quite quick and efficient.
4 out of 5 from me on this one
Thank you for reading
