I bought this hand blender just over a year ago to make life easier and it certainly did just that. I paid £20 for. It at that time and i would pay it over an over. At first I mainly used it to blend my baby daughters food. It is so easy to use and if you use it correctly mess free ! Before this I used and electric whisk and even though it did the job it took a little longer to get the food smooth as more cleaning. I still use my blender almost everyday. My only downfall is it can be a little fiddly to clean the blades.
But other than that I can not think of any other bad word to say about it. So I would defiantly highly recommend this to anybody unsure about purchasing it, like I said before it has wen a life saver on many occasions :) !
I have had the Russell Hobbs 18508 hand blender for the past 18 months and it's something I use on and off. It's not something that I absolutely need in my kitchen, but it can be something that every now and again can be useful and convenient. I bought it for £25.00 18 months ago, but it is now available on Amazon for just £19.99, which I think is a pretty good price and I would happily pay this amount again for this product.
The Russell Hobbs 18508 blender looks quite classy in design. The main body of the blender is red and black plastic, and then the actual blender park is stainless steel. It is fairly small and light, measuring just 45 cm and so it is very manageable in terms of being able to handle it. It feels quite sturdy and well-made and so it seems like it is made to last. The attached blade is thick and robust and made of stainless steel so it is strong. The blade is detachable and can be placed in the dishwasher.
In order to use it, it does need to be plugged in, but there is enough cord to be able to plug it in and not be that restricted as it is about 1m long. I would like it if there was a battery option for this, but unfortunately this isn't the case with this product.
With it there is a plastic beaker which holds 700ml of fluid - and this is big enough for my needs. You don't have to use this beaker but it is convenient to have this beaker, especially for making fruit smoothies and things like that. The blender blends really well, but it does have some limitations. It's obviously not designed for very large quantities of foodstuffs, but it handles a decent amount well. I tend to use if for blending fruit for smoothies, as well as for simple pasta sauces - but for something more challenging I tend to use my food processor. There are two speeds - namely regular and turbo - but to be honest I think this is quite unnecessary because I tend to just use the turbo speed and that seems to for everything.
Overall, I think this is a really good product and I would recommend it.
