I have been doing quite a lot of my shopping at Asda recently and since I had completely ran out of soap I decided to try the fresh blue antibacterial hand wash from the Asda essentials range. Usually I buy the antibacterial hand wash from Tesco and I like that so I assumed this one would be fairly similar.


**Packaging**

The first thing I have to say about the packaging of this soap is that it looks huge. It is 500ml but it looks very bulky so it is not the prettiest looking hand wash I've tried.

The top is locked in place when it is originally purchased, this unlocks with ease and pushes down smoothly to release just the right amount of product.


**Using the soap**

As the soap is released the first thing I notice is that it has a very odd gel like consistency. It feels like gel in that it is quite slimy but it also feels very light.

It lathers up quite well but as I rub the product into my hands it is impossible not to notice how masculine this hand wash is. It smells like after shave and if I were to close my eyes and smell this product that is exactly what I would think it is.

Despite the manly scent of this product it cleans my hands very well and does not dry my hands out at all.
Although my hands feel and smell fresh after using this product the masculine undertones of this product are still evident as I smell my hands.


**Price and availability**

This hand wash can only be purchased through Asda either online or in store and it is priced at 55p.

**Conclusion**

Even though this is a very affordable hand wash I do not think I am going to be purchasing it again. I think it is just too masculine for my tastes. It is a good hand wash to keep if you have messy kids who need to wash their hands all the time as you are saving some pennies but not one for me I'm afraid.
