Advantages: cleans well, fresh clean scent

Disadvantages: none for me

I much prefer hand washes with pumps over a soap bar. The idea of all those germs collecting on soap bars really doesn't appeal to me. I guess the same could be said for the top of soap pumps but then you wash your hands after touching them anyway.

The Product
~~~~~~~
This is 500ml of a fairly bright blue hand wash which can easily be seen through the clear plastic bottle. This allows you to easily see how much is left and therefore ensures you have a chance to buy some more before running out.
It is an anti-bacterial hand wash which to me, means that it will help kill bacteria on your hands. Interestingly though, ASDA say that this wash "helps fight germs and bacteria with added moisturisers to leave hands feeling clean and soft." Okay, I'll give them that the moisturiser is a smart idea, if one that most other people have to ensure that your skin doesn't dry out. However, since this an anti-bacterial hand wash I would have expected some kind of claim about killing X% of bacteria, this wash doesn't make any claim like that. It simply states that it "helps fight germs and bacteria" surely the whole point of a hand wash, anti-bacterial or not, is to do just that?
The hand wash has a shelf life of 24 months.
My Experience
~~~~~~~~~

To use the pump for the first time you simply need to twist the pump 360degrees anti-clockwise. This is printed on the top of the pump but can be very hard to see, should you want to then lock the pump after the first use this can be done by twisting it 360degrees clockwise. Unlike some other pump washes the pump twists easily and shouldn't cause a problem even for those with poor mobility.

The pump itself is also very easy to press down and releases a small blob of the hand wash into your hand. The amount released I've found to be just right, one press is enough to do both my hands without feeling that it's released too much and therefore resulting in wastage. As soon as I start rubbing the hand wash between my hands it works itself into a light lather that feels extremely soft and moisturising for my skin. There is only a very light scent which doesn't really smell of anything in particular, it just smells fresh and clean. Despite not being a strong scent the smell does linger for on my hands for a little while.

After working the wash between my hands it rinses off quickly and easily and so shouldn't cause any problems. However I'm unsure about the moisturising claims. Whilst it didn't dry my hands like some washes can I can't say it left them any softer either.

Other Information
~~~~~~~~~~~
According to the bottle this wash is suitable for vegetarians but unfortunately not vegans. The bottle itself is recyclable but unfortunately neither the label on the bottle or lid are.
I have no intention of copying the whole list of ingredients into this review but it does contain SLS and so is one to avoid if you're sensitive.
ASDA is against animal testing and so neither the ingredients or the finished product has been tested on animals, they also fund research into alternatives to animal testing.
Price, Availability And Recommendation
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Being an ASDA product this is only available from them and costs 55. Despite usually preferring more scented products, I can't fault it for the price and am giving it the full 5 out of 5.

Summary: where else can you get 500ml for 55p?
