My hands are always dry and in winter they even get cracked so when I saw this in the Avon brochure I was keen to give it a try.
My friend at work is an Avon rep so it's great to order things from the book and have them delivered to your desk. They also often have great offers on which I'm tempted by, when I bought this cream it was on offer so I got 2 tubes for £2.
My hands are bad all year but in winter when I'm in and out of the house going from hot to cold and out in all weathers walking my Springer spaniel its no surprise my hands soon to show signs of this. I think my hands looked quite old prior to using this cream the skin in between my fingers was all dry and flakey.
What I liked about this product was that it said it stopped the signs of aging, well who wouldn't want to go for that.
When the cream arrived I tried it straight away. It came in a tube which is squeezy, the lid is a flip lid which I have found very handy for closing after you have applied the cream and your hands are a bit slippery.
The cream itself is white and is a nice thick consistency. It has a nice smell which is not over powering but is nice to smell.
When I applied the cream it felt nice and it absorbed well into my hands. The first time I used it I put on way too much, you really don't need as much as I thought.
I have used the product ever since, I have a tube on my desk at work and one at home too. I apply it several times a day and have really noticed a difference in my skin.
Im not sure I can say my hands look younger but they definitely look in a much better condition than they did prior to me buying this cream. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone no matter what age who wants to look after their hands.
I currently have a tube of this in my work Bag. More often than not I forget to apply this in the day, but i'm a bit fidgety, and I like to have lots of things in my bag to "play" with. I would love to say I religiously use Hand Cream every day, but i'm not that good!
There wasn't any real reason why I bought this one. Any old Hand Cream would probably do the job but I like the claims that this is meant to help with aging, not that I have noticed any signs of aging on my hands. I guess it is never too early to try and prevent.
The tube has changed slightly since the Dooyoo picture, but I have the old style tube that is pictured here. I've had the tube for ages and you are meant to use up within 12 months and i'm probably getting close to that.
This Cream is thick but it sinks in quick enough, and rubs in easy enough. It has a light scent to it, but seems to be a more light Cream smell with perhaps a dash of Perfume in it. Not much and I like the subtleness of this. I would say your Hands feel a tiny bit greasy and sort of slippy after rubbing this in for about 5 minutes, but after that it is just a light sheen on your hands and you can get back to using them how you were.
I cannot comment about the tackling the aging, but I guess you would have to apply this often over a period of time to get the best results.
This costs £3 I think on the full price, but as with Avon it is often on offer which is when I got it for £1.50.
This does fine for a Hand Cream and i would use it again.
cant be without this fantastic little tube, hence i have them dotted around the house and even in my hand bag.
considering the small price you pay from Avon for this hand cream, i could not believe the result.
The texture is fantastic, non greasy, and sinks in the skin with ease, making writing papers work out a doddle as you dont end up with grease marks every where, and the smell is fine - not overpowering or sickly
i have used many expensive hand creams over the years, which promise the earch, and i have to say this has been the best by far, for value and result
considering i have the dryest hand ever, i use this morning and night, and dont ever need a stronger night time had cream to compensate
so.. in a nut shell, what you waiting for ?? purchase a tube or two, you certianly wont be disapointed, as avon could sell this for double the price and i doubt anyone would complain
im certainly one happy customer :-)
~ The Brand ~
At Avon you can order via your local representative who drops off a brochure through your door or you can now order all of their products online but is worth looking out for discount vouchers as the postage is quite hefty if you are only wanting to purchase one product. These can regularly be found using one of the various money saving websites.
Last year I went on an Avon frenzy for Christmas presents for the ladies of the family and managed to get around 15 items of their Skin So Soft products for £5 from a glitch on their website. I had lots of products left over so ended up with a set for myself too.
The product I am reviewing is for Avon's Skin So Soft Age-Defying Hand Cream. Being in my 20s I do not need this type of product yet but I figure why not start early and prevent the signs of aging before they even start!
~ Packaging ~
The packaging is a lovely pearlescent lilac with all of the details in a dark purple which makes the packaging very girly and not out of place on your dressing table. The product is easy to dispense from the squeezy tube. The product is white and has a nice consistency. It has a delicate fragrance which I can't quite describe and the list of ingredients does not reflect it either. It has a flip top lid which is handy as it is easy to open and close when your hands are a little greasy from the product.
~ The Product ~
Upon application the cream feels a little greasy and tacky but distributes evenly across your hands. Within around 20 seconds the product sinks in and left my hands feeling so soft. Within two weeks I saw a marked improvement in my skin and stood up to the harsh winter weather we have in England. The dry skin on my fingers disappeared completely. Just a pea size amount will do one whole hand so the 75ml bottle.
~ Price & Availability ~
Skin So Soft is exclusive to Avon so it is not available in the shops. A 75ml bottle costs a little under £2 but is available from time to time for £1
I rate this 5 out of 5 as it is a top quality product with a tiny price tag.
The Soft & Renewed Age-Defying Hand Cream from Avon's Skin So Soft range is ideal for mature skin that is lacking in vitality. On a daily basis I use the glycerine hand cream as I find it to be nice and thick and quick to absorb but I use this two or three times a week as more of a treatment than anything else.
The cream is quite thin and there is something in it that reflects the light and gives off a shimmering effect too if you look closely. The cream absorbs in well as long as you take the time to rub it in gently and thoroughly. I find that if I wait for thirty seconds after application, my hands are completely dry again and ready to use. This cream sinks right in without leaving a residue on the skin is what I mean by that.
The benefits of using this over a standard hand cream is that it is specifically designed to target the signs of aging on mature hands. It will do little or no good for the hands of a twenty year old, but those over the age of forty will benefit from regular use of this and start to see a real difference in the condition of their skin following a good few weeks of continued use.
This is £3 for a 125ml tube and is frequently available at half price for £1.50. I do like this, I just feel it is a shame it doesn't have the same thick texture that the Glycerine Hand Cream from Avon does.
