Advantages: reasonable price, OK scent
Disadvantages: doesn't really moisturise
My hands become dry really quickly therefore I always have a hand cream on me. I also like trying different products and I recently came across a company called Heathcote & Ivory. I immediately decided to buy quite a few of their products which included Pink Grapefruit and Peppermint Bath & Body Hand Cream.
It comes in a see-through tube with a lid at the bottom which is very practical and means that I won't need to turn it upside down when I start running out of it. The container has a picture of a grapefruit on the front with some basic information about the product whereas at the back there is further infromation such as ingredients and how is it meant to work. The cream has a baby pink colour.
It smells quite strongly of grapefruit (I cannot sense any pepper in it). The scent is a little bit artificial but still pleasant and I feel it may get a bit overwhelming if I use the cream a lot.
I would say that its texture is pretty much perfect: it isn't too runny but it isn't very thick either. It is very easy to use: squeeze some of the cream on your hands and massage it in. It is very easily and quickly absorbed (though it could be because my hands are really dry these days) but the scent stays around for a while.
According to the producer, the cream contains 'ultra moisturising shea butter, vitamin e and glycerin' and is meant to 'leave your hands soft and smooth'. I have been using this cream quite regularly (every day, several times a day) and indeed my hands became soft and smooth. Unfortunately, I do not think it's a good moisturiser - in fact, I don't think it made any difference whatsoever in that respect as my hands still feel quite dry. That really disappointed me as I was looking for a good moisturiser and this cream hasn't really met my expectations.
This cream costs £3.50 for a 120ml tube which I think is fairly reasonable but I won't be buying it again.
Thank you for reading my review.
Summary: won't buy it again
