“ Brand: Baylis and Harding / Type: Hand Lotion / Suitable for: Hand „
I often like to display a hand lotion in the bathroom to accompany my soap. This is because I often suffer from dry skin on my hands, but I also think it is a nice little added extra, especially for when you have guests over. I was not particularly shopping around for hand lotions, but when I was in TK Maxx, I walked past this and picked it up as it was only around the £3.00 mark so I thought I would give it a go as it smelt delicious.
The actual retail price from Baylis and Harding's website is £2.00, so you can get it cheaper if you shop around on internet stockists, and I am sure it may be available in some stores too. Mine was just a lucky one off find in TK Maxx when shopping for something completely out of that nature. I have a habit for picking up little goods when shopping that I don't really need!
The main thing that attracted me to it was how lovely its exterior is for simply just a hand lotion. Although an image is not shown on Dooyoo, you essentially get a bottle with a pump attached to the top. It is white, with a gorgeous floral pattern all over it, and it looks extremely elegant, and a little posh if I do say so myself! When you purchase it, there is a tiny bow around the neck of the bottle and a little tag detailing information about the hand lotion. I thought this was a lovely touch and made it stand out from other hand lotions, therefore making it a little present to myself. However, this would be lovely to give to somebody as a gift, perhaps with a few other items from the range, as they look great, work great and are extremely affordable.
You get 500ml worth of product in the bottle, which is a hefty bottle, particularly for hand lotion, meaning it appears to be lasting me months considering it was so cheap. So although it looks lovely, how well does it perform? The first thing I noticed was that it was not one of those hand lotions which you push the pump down and it squirts out all over you. I hate those nasty surprises. It comes out at a reasonable pace, and I usually squeeze it about three times and that covers your whole hands. The thing I like most about the hand cream is that it is a very nice consistency, neither too thick nor too thin, meaning that it smooths the hands well, without leaving a greasy residue on later which is fabulous.
The first thing you notice when rubbing into the palms of your hands is its gorgeous rose scent. It is not artificial at all, and truly smells like a bouquet of flowers which is fabulous, and a really complimentary scent to have in your bathroom. It is not too overpowering, but just subtle and right as a hand lotion.
Once it had rubbed in thoroughly, I noticed that my hands almost instantly started to feel velvet like and very smooth. I was not expecting the results to be anywhere near as good as they were for the price in which I paid. It really is a delightful little product which I would urge you all to try out. There is no point forking out a small fortune to buy these upmarket hand lotions, when you can get cheap alternatives that work just as well. The only thing I will note is that it may not be effective for people who suffer from very dry skin, as it is quite a subtle hand lotion.
Overall, I will be rating this hand lotion five stars as I love it, and it really delivers excellent value for money. Recommended to all, so pick one up you see them! (It is also available in different fragrances if rose is not for you). Thanks for reading.
