Baylis & Harding Wild Rose & Raspberry Leaf Hand Wash:
I needed some hand wash the other day and I'm not a huge fan of all this anti-bacterial stuff as I think it's all just too much and we really don't need it. I wanted something that smelt nice, looked pretty and wasn't too expensive; after sniffing a few different hand washes I chose some Baylis & Harding Wild Rose & Raspberry Leaf Hand Wash. {Snappy name huh}?
What first attracted me to this particular hand wash was it's lovely pink colour and quite glamorous looks. It comes in a reasonably large 500ml bottle made of clear plastic allowing you not only to see the translucent pink liquid soap inside but also a rather nifty design on the back of the bottle which is magnified by the soap and looks really cool.
There is a large pump on the top of the bottle which dispenses pretty much the right amount to thoroughly wash your wash hands, which is good as I hate wasting stuff like this. The pump is made of black plastic and the collar of the pump/bottle is shiny silver plastic embossed with Baylis & Harding, it looks nice and adds a classy touch to the bottle overall. It's quite a plain looking bottle other than what I have described which I like and all the important information is displayed down the sides in a very discreet way.
The soap is syrupy and reasonably thin but not so thin that it runs straight off of your hands and down the plug hole when you use it. It is easy to get a really good lather up when using this and I feel confident that it is cleansing my hands sufficiently. The smell is quite gorgeous it smells of roses and not that artificial scent you get with a lot of cosmetics but instead smells natural and quite authentic. It's just like the scent of a garden full of pretty roses and I find it quite an evocative scent. When my Mum used it she got emotional as the scent reminded her of her Dad's garden and yet normally she hates rose scented things! For some the smell of roses is old fashioned but I love it and this is so summery and light I just adore it and love the way it lingers on my hands till next time I wash them.
I paid just £2.00 for this hand wash which makes it the same price as most of the branded hand washes, (like Carex, Dettol etc.), on the market but it feels more luxurious and is definitely nicer to have on display in the bathroom for guests. You can also buy this from the Baylis & Harding website, (baylisandharding.com), for the same price. Matching hand cream is also available for those who like to layer scents, I will definitely be treating myself to some soon.
I can't fault this at all, it really covers all the bases; it's a good price, it looks goods, works well and smells great. Recommended!
Summary: More than I expected for the price
