“ Brand: Bliss / Type: Hand Cream / Suitable for: Hand „
Bliss is a company whose products I've wanted to try for a long time. Originally a spa in New York, they developed their own range of skincare products which have been very successful and highly regarded by all beauty magazine, but have also sadly been way out of my price range. At £23 for a body butter this is pretty pricey stuff. So this year I decided to treat myself to a small Bliss treat which wouldn't be too expensive - the Bliss High Intensity Hand Cream, which has been released for Christmas in a special edition called "It's Snow Wonder" (I love a good pun, so their product titles always appeal to me!)
It's Snow Wonder comes in a small 30ml tube and uses the trademark Bliss turquoise packaging with silver writing. It even has a little snowflake on it and iridescent sparkles to give it that Christmassy feel! While the original High Intensity Hand Cream used Macademia Nut oil, this one uses Arctic Berries and Grapeseed oils as well to soften the skin. It also uses shea butter which is renowned for its moisturising properties. The tube has a screw top lid, which is ideal in some ways as it allows you to dispense exactly the smallest amount you need without any wastage, but annoying in others. I would much prefer a flip top lid as I like to apply the cream to one hand at a time, so find having to replace the lid irritating. Although having said that, I find flip top lids can be wasteful, as product gets clogged up in the lid.
The product itself is lovely - the cream is white and very rich, the instructions state you only need a pea sized amount for each hand and I would definitely agree with that - any more and you are just wasting it! The small amount really does do your whole hand, including massaging into the nails. The smell of this is a really odd one to place - it's slightly fruity, but combined with a little bit of musk - it does actually smell pretty wintery, which I would imagine from the name is the idea! Looking at the oils used, it uses grape, blackberry, and raspberry seed oils, so that must be where the fruity scent comes from. It's not so strong that you'll smell of it, but it does stay nicely on your hands - I had a nice compliment from my boyfriend when I'd applied this a good few hours beforehand, so it does last nicely.
After applying this my hands do feel really smooth and soft. The winter weather usually takes quite a toll on my hands, and I have to admit I'm not great at taking care of them. However, I've made a conscious effort lately to keep my hands and nails looking good and have been applying this 3 times a day and it has made a real difference. It's also improved the condition of my nails, which are smoother and shinier.
At £5 for a 30ml tube this isn't cheap, but is comparable price wise to the Body Shop's Hemp Hand Cream and is a nice introduction to the Bliss range that won't break the bank. The fact that it is so rich means that it's already lasted me a lot longer than cheaper hand creams I've used, which consistency wise have been more like lotions, and the effect has been that my hands are much softer and moisturised for longer. I bought this from www.hqhair.com where they stock a good range of Bliss products, including a couple of really good value sample sets which would be a lovely Christmas present for any girl.
Dont let the cold dry out your skin! The dual action of arctic berries and grapeseed oils will keep your hands soft and moisturised /
