~*~*~*~ Stocking filler *~*~*~*~
I recently popped into the Body Shop just to have a little look around, without any real intention to buy anything. But I was tempted by the 3 for 2 offer on Christmas stocking fillers as I thought it would be a nice cheap fix! Along with a couple of Born Lippy lip balm, this also caught my eye.
~*~*~*~ New addition for the new addition! *~*~*~*~
This is a completely new product which I hadn't seen either in-store or online before, and I was quite keen to try it out. I am not obsessive about hygiene and germs, but travelling on public transport in London every day and with a young child - and number 2 on the way - I think this is something that's handy to have around, and I know when Baby 2 is born I will be using more anti-bacterial hand gels as I did with Baby 1!
The reason I was intrigued by this product is that the smell of anti-bacterial hand gels is usually a bit revolting! They have a high alcohol content and they often tend to smell of alcohol too. This can be a little embarrassing when dropping my daughter off at nursery in the morning, as smelling of booze isn't really ideal! So I was interested to see if this would actually smell of Body Shop Satsuma products which I happen to love. To be honest, I didn't hold out much hope!
~*~*~*~* Test it out ~*~*~*~
Luckily there was a tester in store for me to try out. Sniffing the contents they did smell faintly of the familiar Satsuma smell which seemed promising. I applied a dollop to my hands. This is a clear, non-sticky gel and rubbing this into my hands I immediately noticed two things. One was that it had an instant cooling effect to the skin - it felt really cold! The second was that horrible, strong alcohol smell which wafted up straight away. So I prepared to pop the product back into the little basket it came from. But a few seconds later, the cold sensation subsided and, smelling my hands, I was pretty amazed to find that the scent of alcohol had gone and it left my hands really smelling of the sweet Satsuma fragrance that I like so much! I was really pleased with this and decided there and then to make the purchase!
I have found this little bottle to be the ideal size to pop into a bag when out and about, and it's so easy and convenient to use - and best of all I don't mind using it because of the lovely fragrance!
~*~*~* Instant cleansing ~*~*~*~*
I am really happy with this product. It offers instant cleansing with no water, and it also ticks the important box for me which is that it doesn't leave me smelling of booze!
All in all, for £2.50 I have no complaints about this product - although I should mention that you can probably get cheaper gels from your local supermarket or chemist. But for me the fact that it smells nice makes it worth the extra pennies, and as I won't be using it daily I think this will last me a long time.
~*~*~*~* Other varieties ~*~*~*~* The product costs £2.50 for a 60ml bottle. It also comes in sweet lemon, mango, strawberry, grapefruit and coconut varieties.
