Advantages: Strong scent, cleans hands well, dries very quickly, leaves hands feel moisturised
Disadvantages: None!
I love the satsuma range from The Body Shop and so when I came across the new hand cleanse gels I intended to buy one for myself to carry around with me. However, last week I got it for my birthday as one of my little presents!
The hand cleanse gel is designed to keep hands clean while on the go. No water is required to use it and you just squeeze a small amount on your hands, rub it in, and it dries within seconds. The bonus is the lovely juicy satsuma scent! If you are a fan of the satsuma range from The Body Shop like I am then you will definitely like this as the scent is strong just as the other products in the satsuma range are.
I carry this around in my bag with me and as it is only a 60ml bottle it is small enough to do so. I first used it at work and after applying it everyone around me said they could smell something fruity and nice and then others (including men!) started using the gel too. It really is strong but because the scent is so lovely I really don't mind! I could also still smell the scent on my hands still a couple hours after applying.
My only worry was that as a result of using this gel it might make my hands feel dry like they do after I have just washed them with any other soap or handwash. Therefore, I would want to apply hand cream after which may then overpower the satsuma scent. However, this hand cleanse gel also makes my hands feel moisturised too and so I don't need to apply hand cream after. I am quite addicted to hand cream too and constantly applying it throughout the day as I can't stand my hands feeling the slightest bit dry!
The gel itself does a really good job at cleaning my hands. Obviously it was hard to tell at first until I recently had my car bonnet up and got my hands a bit mucky. I used the gel after and it got rid of all the dirt on my hands easily and quickly, and not too much of the gel was required to do so. I thought I would also add that I actually applied it whilst sitting in my car... when I next got in my car I got a whiff of satsuma, which my boyfriend noticed too?! I'm not sure how it made the car smell of satsuma too!
The Body Shop hand cleanse gel is available in six different scents: satsuma, strawberry, coconut, mango, pink grapefruit and sweet lemon. I haven't tried any of the other scents but I will definitely be trying them after I have ran out of this. A 60ml bottle is priced at £2.50 which may be quite expensive when compared to other brands of hand cleanse gels, but I think it is reasonable for The Body Shop price tags! I don't mind paying that bit extra for the strong scents of these.
I definitely recommend this product... I keep applying it even when I don't think I necessarily need to just because I love the scent so much!
Summary: A great handy product to have in my bag!
