Advantages: It smells lovely
Disadvantages: None at all
One item I always keep in my handbag is a bottle of hand cleansing gel, I find it extremely useful if you are out and about and need to wash your hands but cannot find toilets anywhere, also I find it useful if you have to use public toilets when out and they turn out to be a bit dirty and smelly, I can use some of this gel once I am back outside again to ensure that my hands are clean. Another reason I use this is being diabetic and injecting 4 times a day I need to make sure my hands are really clean when I do so. .
I have tried different hand cleansing gels in the past and have found that a lot of them either tend to just smell very strongly of alcohol or the ones that attempt to add a fragrance just smell horrible like a really cheap and nasty vodka. My Mum also has a thing about keeping this gel with her in her handbag and she recently bought me a bottle of The Body Shop satsuma Hand Cleansing Gel to try, I really love The Body Shops fruity products that they sell so I was hoping that this was going to be of the same quality.
The Body Shop Satsuma Hand Cleansing Gel comes in a clear plastic bottle allowing you to see the gel inside, which is handy so you can see exactly how much of the product is left. Wrapped around the middle of the bottle is a white label, on the front of this is The Body Shop logo with the name Satsuma Hand Cleansing Gel written underneath in dark green writing, this is then repeated in a second language just underneath.
The majority of the label is taken up with a picture of a hand which is coloured in different shades of orange, just beneath this are 4 symbols that indicate the situations where this product can be used.
The back of the bottle contains all of the product information, this includes directions for use, warnings and the ingredients, all of this information is written in dark green writing so that it stands out against the white background, however it is written so small that it is quite difficult to read. On the top of the bottle is a clear plastic lid which flips open and clicks shut to ensure that the gel does not leak out of the bottle.
The Satsuma Hand Cleansing Gel is totally clear and is of quite a thick consistency, you actually have to squeeze the bottle in order get the product out, but this is pretty standard for this type of product. What struck me first about this particular cleansing gel was the fragrance, I was expecting something that smelt of pure alcohol or a nasty fruit alcohol, however I was surprised to find that this smelt just like fresh Satsuma's, there was a very faint hint of alcohol behind this, but it was hardly detectable at all, the fragrance was very strong but not in a bad way, it had a lovely clean and fresh smell to it and after using the gel I found that this strong satsuma smell lingered on my hands for a long while afterwards.
The Body Shop Satsuma Hand Cleansing Gel can be used in pretty much any situation where you feel you want to wash your hands or freshen them up a bit, on the front of the bottle there are logos suggesting that the gel can be used for travel, for all the family, for meal times and also when you have been dealing with pets but there are so many other times when this gel comes in handy.
When it comes to using The Body Shop Satsuma Hand Cleansing Gel it is very simple, you just squeeze a small amount into your hands and then rub it in as though you are rubbing in hand cream, your hands do feel a little bit wet after using the gel but I find this dries extremely quickly. With this gel there is no need for water or a towel to dry your hands on afterwards.
As I mentioned earlier there are a few warnings on the back of the bottle these state
* Avoid contact with eyes
* Avoid contact with broken skin
* Keep out of reach of children
* The product is flammable
These are standard for this type of product but worth adhering to in order to prevent discomfort when using the gel.
Obviously the Satsuma Hand Cleansing Gel is only available from The Body Shop as it is one of their own brand products. The gel comes in a 60ml bottle which costs £2.50 Personally I feel this is a reasonable price for this product, whilst you can buy cheaper ones I find they are not of such a good quality and do not smell very nice. I also find that you only need a small amount of the gel at a time so the bottle will last you a long time making it very economical and long lasting.
I have been using The Body Shop Satsuma Hand Cleansing Gel for a little while now and I have been extremely pleased with it, the bottle is small and compact so it is easy to keep in my handbag with me at all time, I love the fragrance of this gel it actually smells of Satsuma's rather than just a horrible fruity alcohol smell that you often get with this type of product.
Once I have used this gel my hands feel clean and smell lovely and fresh, the fragrance lingers for a long while after using the gel so the freshness lasts. I feel confident in using this product when I am out and about and know that it is going to keep my hands clean and germ free throughout the day which is important with a young baby.
Overall I have been very pleased with The Body Shop Satsuma Hand Cleansing Gel, I will definitely be buying this product again when mine runs out and I would recommend it to anyone.
Summary: A really nice hand gel that smells delicious
