Boots used to do a really lovely delicately scented hand wash called coconut and almond. There were a few other things in the same range when I used to buy this particular liquid soap and I also bought the hand cream, I remember, at the same time. I have not been able to find it for a while though, sadly, so I do not know if it is out of stock now or if they have just stopped making it.
I used to pay juts under £1.50 for this lovely liquid soap and the packaging was really delightful to look at. It looked really nice in its delicate and pastel shades in my downstairs loo. The bottle was quite a hefty size, too, at 300ml and as we never used ot have to use a great deal of this liquid soap to get a great lather, one bottle would last us for ages.
The main thing I used ot love about this hand wash (apart from the quality and price, of course) was the fact tat it had such a beautiful smell and it would linger on the skin for ages after the soap had been rinsed off.
It was such a gentle soap and suitable for all skin types and for this reason it was suitable for the entire family to use. It lathered well, moisturised my skin and never left any sticky residue or made my skin aggravated or raw. I have to be really careful what types of creams and potions I use on my skin but this one was always lovely and gentle and mild.
I wish I was able to find it now but possibly I might have to go to a larger Boots store to find it.
Very much recommended, if you can still get it.
This is a coconut and almond-scented hand wash from the Boots Ingredients range, priced at £1.29 and packaged in a plastic pump bottle containing 300ml. For the size, this seems to be a medium/average priced hand wash and if you have a Boots Advantage card, you will collect points for the purchase. The wash itself is white, with a creamy consistency.
I bought this hand wash because I'd tried the conditioner from the same range and loved the smell, which turned out to be just as good in the hand wash, although doesn't linger (so no good if you want to smell of coconut and almond!). The hand wash seemed to me to be good-quality, gave my hands a good wash and was fairly moisturising (it could be more so, to suit people with quite dry hands). The packaging is fairly nice-looking, not something I'm embarrassed to have in my bathroom. It's a simple cylindrical plastic bottle which is transparent (this is a plus for me, being able to see how much product is left), with a label that wraps round it.
I like pump bottles for hand wash as it seems the most convenient and hygienic way of dispensing soap for hand-washing. However, I found this bottle a nightmare to get into. You know when you first use a pump-bottle and you have to twist the top to make it pump for the first time? I just couldn't manage it and after a major struggle had to enlist help - incidentally I encountered the same problem with the matching body lotion (working my way through the whole range!). This is the major downside I've found with this product (and not being able to open the bottle is quite a big issue really!).
In conclusion, I would buy this again, particularly if on offer, as the smell is really good and it's a nice product. Boots could do with looking into the pump mechanism - although once I'd got it going, there were no problems pumping the product out.
Thanks for reading!
Boots Coconut and Almond Hand Wash is a real winner!
It is from the Boots Ingredients range of products and its the best 'flavour' in the range for me. Considering that the Ingredients products are sold as a value range of products, this wash priced at around £1.19, gives a lovely luxury feel.
The hand wash range also includes a nice Mango and Orange Blossom Hand Wash, which gives off a light, fresh citrus aroma and a Lavender and Jasmine wash, which is softly scented and suitable for use even on slightly sensitive hands
The Coconut and Almond Hand Wash not only cleanses your hands, it also moisturises them at the same time, leaving them feeling soft and smooth and nicely hydrated.
The soft coconut and almond fragrance is really and I do mean really yummy. If ever you want to persuade your kids to go wash their hands, it may be worth getting some of this, as its just gorgeous. The texture of the wash is just right and produces a light and creamy lather when you use it.
The usual price of £1.19 is fair value for the amount of product you get, although at times it can be bought for a little less. I was able to buy some of these hand washes for £1 each recently, so do look out for reductions.
Boots do say that the Ingredients range of products are 'specially formulated to refresh and revitalise your skin, leaving it soft, smooth and conditioned'. Having used all of the hand washes within the range I do agree that they are a nice quality wash which leaves your hands fresh, clean and soft.
The Coconut and Almond Hand Wash comes attractively packed. It comes in a clear plastic container, with a photo of a coconut placed on a white back ground. Its easy to use as it has a simple pump action applicator. When you use the wash for the first time, you just need to twist the top, then press the pump a few times and its ready for use. Only a small amount of the wash is needed for good results.
Of the three hand washes in this range this is a real winner, its lightly fragranced, leaves your hands nice and soft with out irritation and at just £1.19 for a 300ml bottle offers really good value for money. A thumping 5 star rating for this.
I bought this after recently trying the shower creme in the same range and finding it surprisingly effective. The hand wash costs £1.16 for a 300ml bottle, but there's currently a 'buy 1 get 1 1/2 price' offer across the range making it even more bargainous!
It comes in a clear plastic bottle, so you can always easily see how much you have left. It has a press-top dispenser on the top, which makes it easy to use and delivers just the right amount of the hand wash to wash your hands with.
It is a white creamy lotion with a pearlised look to it. The consistency is quite runny, but at the same time it's texture is quite rich and creamy. It feels silky and smooth against the skin, and it feels really nice to use. It has a really lovely coconut scent which is not too artificial smelling, or too strong or overpowering.
It lathers up quickly and easily, and produces a fairly thin lather of lovely soft bubbles. It's easy to rinse off and I don't find it leaves me with any residue left behind on my skin like some hand washes do.
Immediately after using it my skin feels really clean, as well as soft and smooth, and not at all dry or tight like it often does after washing my hands. It seems to do a really good job of moisturising the skin, and I find that my hands stay feeling really soft and hydrated for hours after using it.
I think this is another really good product from boots, and definitely good value from money. I'll almost certainly be buying it again.
Leave your skin soft and nourished!
