“ Brand: Boots / Type: Hand Wash / Suitable for: Hand „
I like to alternate the hand washes used in my home and make my purchases when I see them on offer, as it is very rare that I will pay more than £1. As I had accumulated rather a lot of points on my Boots Advantage Card I decided to treat myself and one of the products that caught my eye was their Mango and Orange Blossom Hand Wash. After taking a sniff I decided to place several bottles into my basket and this review discussing my experience with using.
The sturdy transparent plastic bottle is rather plain when making a comparison with other brands and it was the pale orange colour of the hand wash that initially captured my attention together with the colourful image of a section of mango adorned with a pretty white daisy like flower. The bottle contains 300 ml of hand wash as opposed to the 250 ml offered by the majority of leading brands, so you're receiving a little more for your money.
The pump dispenser is a little chunky although easy to operate with a gentle press providing enough for one hand wash. Many brands of hand washes tend to offer a leaky dispenser where tiny blobs of the product will drip and make a mess on the sink, but I cannot speak of any issues when using this. The consistency of the hand wash is similar to that of the leading and more expensive brands and is thick enough not to run between my fingers and straight down the plug hole. It lathers up as soon as I run water onto my skin and enables me to effectively wash my hands and rid them of any grease and grime.
The aroma is absolutely stunning and whilst evident when initially dispensing, it becomes considerably stronger when using. The orange blossom fragrance is the most evident with its uplifting and floral tones, which are very authentic due to the natural flower extract. The aroma of mango, which again is very authentic, works in perfect harmony with its very refreshing, zesty and uplifting aroma. The hand wash is rinsed away from my skin with great ease without leaving any residue and after drying my hands I am able to witness the delightful aroma as it delicately nestles on the surface and I love the fact that it doesn't fade for a couple of hours. I suffer with problematic skin on my hands, which often splits and bleeds. However, I experienced no adverse reactions when using such as dryness or itching although I regularly use a hand cream directly after using hand washes in order to keep my condition under control.
This is an absolutely beautiful hand wash and despite its floral tones, I feel it would be well suited for both men and women and I won't hesitate in repurchasing. Whilst the plastic bottle is suitable for recycling, unfortunately, the pump dispenser is not, so it needs to be disposed of via normal household waste. I was a little surprised to read this information on the reverse of the bottle, particularly as other brands generally provide packaging that can be recycled in its entirety. Whilst hand washes in our household generally last around 3 weeks I would advise that there is a 24 month use by date on this product, which comes into force after opening.
Boots Mango and Orange Blossom Hand Wash is available in a 300 ml bottle and costs £1.25, which I feel is an excellent price considering how much product you are receiving. Due to the reasons discussed above, I feel a five star rating is appropriate together with a high recommendation.
I am a great lover of hand washes and like to have one by every sink in the house as having a young baby and nappy changes equals much hand washing.
Upstairs I have a cute Hello Kitty hand wash pump bottle which I was bought for Christmas and have refilled twice. I often find that the pumps are faulty on bottles so it is handy to have one to decant into.
The pump failed me on my latest bottle of Boots Ingredients Mango and Orange Blossom Hand Wash. I just couldn't get it to work, so this was the next one to go into Hello Kitty. I have had this hand wash a few times before and just love its fragrance, it is one of my favourites. The empty bottle can also go into the recycling box when finished with.
A 300ml bottle is priced £1.25 but is often on special offer for £1 or you get a few extra boots points from the Advantage machine coupon allocator.
One pump of the bottle is enough to deliver an adequate amount to wash hands and create a lather. It smells beautiful on the skin and doesn't dry out hands badly like some hand washes or soap can.
I like the label on the bottle of Mango and orange blossom hand wash, it is so straightforward with a picture of a fresh slice of mango and blossom sitting on top. The rest of the bottle is clear so you can see how much is left. The fresh and fruity smell lasts on your hands quite a while after washing and drying. I think this is a brilliant price for the product and Boots brand. I have bought other items from the Boots Ingredients range and found them also to be of good quality and a great price.
I think this is a nice hand wash although it's not offering the antibacterial properties that many hand washes have. I think as long as you spend a decent amount of time using warm or hot water, lathering and paying attention to nails and between the fingers you can get a good clean result with this hand wash. It's a shame the pump broke on mine before I got to use it but that does happen sometimes. I would buy this again (and again) but will try other brands in between so that I can appreciate the smell and not get used to it.
Boots Mango and Orange Blossom Hand Wash is part of the 'Ingredients' range on sale in Boots stores across the UK.
This is a value range of products, which includes the hand wash range, that are priced at around £1.19, although at times it can be bought for a little less. I managed to get these for £1 each recently, so do look out for reductions.
The hand wash comes attractively packed, in a clear plastic container, with an easy to use pump applicator. To use the wash for the first time, you just need to twist the top, then press the pump a few times and its ready for use.
The bottle contains 300g of hand wash, so will last well when compared to many other brands which contain less product for more money.
The Mango hand wash is really nice to use. It contains a mix of mango extract and also orange blossom extracts. It gives off a light, fresh citrus aroma and seems to be ok for use even on sensitive hands.
The wash is not too gloopy or thick in consistency and you need very little on the hands to work up a decent lather and give good results.
Boots say that the Ingredients range of products are 'specially formulated to refresh and revitalise your skin, leaving it soft, smooth and conditioned'. All I can say is that having bought and used them, I found them very nice, so have bought them to use again.
There is also a Lavender and Jasmine wash and a Coconut and Almond wash in the range. The Coconut wash is really lovely, its creamy in texture and smells lovely too. I do have the Lavender wash stashed away waiting to be used, but haven't tried it yet. Hopefully it will prove to be as good as the other 2 washes have been.
I am rating the wash as 5 stars for value and fragrance. It does just what it should in a nice gentle way, is long lasting and easy to use.
Boots Mango and Orange Hand Wash is part of a range known as "Ingredients" which offer inexpensive products designed to be used every day. These include shower gels and hand washes and I have tried many of these and found them to be very pleasant to use, and I think they represent good value for money. Often on offer for £1 but usually no more than £1.19, this hand wash is readily available in all Boots stores and online.
The bottle is very pretty with a cut mango and orange blossom flower label and the amber liquid is clearly visible behind.
I have three bathrooms and a kitchen sink all with hand basins, and so I use a lot of hand washes, and this product has been very popular with my husband and son. My husband actually commented on the lovely fragrance, which I thought was rather significant as it must have impressed him to encourage him to make a point.
It lathers very well indeed and the smell is lovely, it reminds me of freshly cut tangerines, and after washing hands are clean and they really smell beautiful for ages afterwards. They are soft and the product is refreshing, and does not leave hands dry or in need of too much hand cream afterwards.
The dispenser is very effective and it is economically pumped so a little goes a long way.
The bottle can be recycled which I am pleased about, but I must admit I like to use Dettol soap in the kitchen as it is antibacterial and it eliminates the need for plastics to be collected after use by the council. It isn't that practical to use soap in the bathrooms though, and I prefer to use hand wash, especially in the downstairs cloakroom where guests use the facilities.
This hand wash is a great buy and an economical one and I really love the scent. You can't go wrong with this and it won't break the bank either. If you like this range there is also a lovely Coconut and Almond hand wash and a Lavender and Jasmine variant.
The Mango and Orange range also includes a body butter, shower gel, bath foam and body lotion. These are again inexpensive and attractively packaged.
I think that if you are looking for a hand wash which looks fresh and attractive this is an excellent choice. It has a streamlined design so it fits on even the most modest sized hand basin, and the attractive sunny label is probably its most appealing feature.
Good value and I think a hand wash to be recommended
