Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Hand Cream
Advantages: Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth
Disadvantages: Leaves a slightly greasy feeling behind
I think I've tried nearly all of the products in the Protect & Perfect range which has been created by Boots. The hand cream was one of the final ones for me to try out but I wasn't disappointed.
What does it do?
The product claims to condition and protect the skin so that you can have younger looking hands. It also promises to reduce the appearance of fine lines on the hands within two weeks of daily use. You hands should be left looking healthy and feeling soft and smooth. The cream also contains SPF 15 so it helps to protect the hands from any further damage being caused by the external elements.
How do you use the product?
The product is to be used in the same way as any other hand cream. It can be used every morning and as often as required throughout the day.
Packaging and Price
The product comes in a pearly white plastic tube and it has a white pearlescent screw top lid. There is some basic information about the product on the tube but the product is pretty self explanatory anyway. Because it is in a tube, there will be some cream left over at the end which you can't access but I plan to cut mine open to use every last drop.
I have a 25ml travel sized tube which came as part of a free set I had from Boots. The full sized bottle will cost you around £10 and for you money you will get 75ml of the cream. It can be bought from Boots itself and from a few online websites.
Aroma and Appearance
The product is a thick white cream and it has quite a rich consistency. The cream doesn't have much of an aroma so it shouldn't be to anyone's disliking but it is quite floral and a little bit old fashioned. It is also a little bit creamy but very fresh and clean.
The cream is absorbed really quickly into the skin just as promised and you don't need to use much of the cream at all to get the desired results because a little goes a long way. It feels completely comfortable on the skin and it doesn't cause any irritations on my sensitive skin. It leaves a slight sheen on the skin but it looks healthy rather than greasy. The skin does feel a little greasy when I first apply it but this feeling fades and it doesn't leave fingerprints on things which is also a big relief!
The hand cream alleviates feeling of dryness and tightness from the minute that you apply it. It softens your skin really nicely from the first use and it leaves them feeling as smooth as silk. I haven't really noticed any reduction in the fine lines on my hands but then I didn't really expect to after two weeks like the packaging promises.
I haven't had change to check out the SPF performance as the sun never shines here so I can't comment on that. My skin looks really healthy and in a good condition. It prevents any dryness from coming back when used continuously and it stops my hands feeling tight.
The results are fairly long lasting and one application in the morning does seem to last until bedtime unless I'm doing the house work or something which leads to dryness.
All in all, this is a lovely hand cream that leaves your skin looking healthy and feeling soft and smooth. The only things I would change about this product is the slight feeling of greasiness and I'd prefer a sweeter fragrance but other than that, this is brilliant!
Summary: A lovely hand cream which softens the skin and leaves it looking healthy
