Advantages: Easy application, good packaging, frequent special offers, works well.
Disadvantages: None.
Over the years I have tried many products in the No 7 range and the majority of them have been high quality products that I've returned back to using time and time again. Hand cream is something that I use every single day, several times a day, and so I like to have one that doesn't smell offensive and that looks after my hands.
This hand cream comes in a 75ml packet and this currently costs £10.50. The packaging is quite straight forward with an angled pot and a flip top lid on the top. This is also available in a 25ml sized pot and these are often given out free in No 7 gift sets which you get when you spend so much in store during a promotional period. I usually buy this when it is part of a 3 for 2 promotion and as this lasts me quite a while I only buy one tube at a time.
I use this hand cream in the mornings, before retiring to bed in the evenings and after I have washed my hands a few times during the day. I like to use it regularly to ensure that my hands are kept in tip top condition. This hand cream contains SPF15 for help protect your skin against the sun and I like to know that I am doing all I can for my hands to prevent premature ageing. My main reason for using hand cream is to keep my hands looking young for as long as possible as hands can often show ageing quicker than other parts of the body (at least for the women in my family it seems).
So to use this cream is very simple, just flip open the lid and apply a small amount of the white creamy liquid to your hand. Then rub this around your hands and your cuticles before leaving to dry for a moment or two and then continuing with your day. There is no real obvious scent to this hand cream and so its inoffensive and I have no qualms about using it at any time of the day, even just before I eat food. The cream absorbs quickly in to the skin and takes just a few seconds to soak in. This does not irritate my sensitive skin at all and it leaves a light coating on my hands but not in a greasy way. After about one minute of waiting I can then carry on with my day without worrying about leaving greasy fingerprints on everything I touch.
In all I would say that this hand cream works very well. My hands feel protective and they are incredibly smooth too, even if I forget to use this for a day. I like how soft my skin feels when I've been using this and a little goes a long way too. My hands look quite clear of wrinkles and they probably look just as nice today as they did 5 years ago and now I'm in my mid 20s I'm quite conscious of looking after my skin, particularly on my hands and face. I wouldn't say that any little wrinkles I had before have faded but I generally feel that once the skin is damaged like that it won't be easily repaired anyway. The price of this may seem a little expensive but with application several times a day a tube of this easily lasts me 2 months, sometimes more, and so this works out to be quite reasonably priced per use and once I think its all gone I just cut it open and keep to using it just at home after hand washing and then I always get a good two weeks more out of it.
Summary: A fantastic hand cream from the Boots No 7 range.
