Carex Aloe Vera Hand Wash
Advantages: washes hands well, a trusted brand, cheap (for me!)
Disadvantages: those who are not fans of aloe vera may be put off
I was well glad when my last handwash in my bathroom finished (see my earlier review of the awful Dettol Healthy Touch Antibacterial Hand Wash) so was eager to get a well known but cheap little handwash to replace it. I was in Sainsburys doing my weekly shop some time ago and managed to get this 250ml pump of Carex Aloe Vera handwash for a mere 81p!
It is a gel green handwash which kills 99.9% of bacteria and the new and improved formula works "in seconds" apparently to kill bacteria faster and so the family's hands are protected from bacteria. I of course cannot see the bacteria dying lol but I believe Carex to be a trusted brand when it comes to handwash so I give this information the benefit of the doubt!
It comes in a square shaped plastic bottle with an easy dispense pump at the top. The function is simple, just press down on the pump and the handwash comes out in a green gel type liquid into the palm of my hand. I usually wet my hands under the running tap first, and then pump a small amount into my hands, usually the size of a 10p coin and I always find this to be more than enough at creating ample amount of lather so I feel I am giving my hands a good scrub! I really like this handwash as it doesn't leave my hands feeling too dry and in need of a good moisturising post-handwashing lol. It says on the back that it has added moisturisers and I feel the difference in using this handwash compared to other handwashes I have owned (and the crappy one we have at work) so I prefer this heavily on this factor alone.
In terms of the smell, it doesn't really have a rich aloe vera scent to it, it's much more subtle but does smell of genuine aloe vera. My mum used to be a freak for all kinds of aloe vera products so I found this put me off and so usually I am not always the biggest fan of aloe vera smelling products but I actually quite like this one as it is not too overpowering and synthetic so as to annoy me lol.
Overall I am really happy with this handwash and for 81p it is a nifty little bargain. It smells nice, is easy to use and cleans my hands really well. Only using a little at a time proves it to be long lasting so I am sure I will get my monies worth! It does all you could ask for from a handwash so I would definitely recommend :)
Summary: great handwash from carex
