Advantages: Kills bacteria

Disadvantages: Doesn't moisturise enough during winter months

I have always used hand washes in my kitchen and bathroom and over the years a couple of brands have become my favourites. One of these brands is Carex who do a large range of hand washes. In the kitchen where I am regularly washing my hands whilst preparing food for my family I like to have one that kills bacteria as well as helping to moisturise my hands. I do tend to suffer from dry skin on my hands, particularly in the winter months so anything that helps prevent this is good. This review is of the original Carex hand wash made by the familiar Cussons brand.

Packaging
I really like the shape of the Carex bottle it is a slightly curved rectangular shape with a decent base area. The size of the base means that it doesn't easily get knocked over when there isn't much left which often happens with other bottles.
The hand wash is dispensed from a plunger which is really easy to use, it has a large enough to press down on and I never have any problems controlling the amount of hand wash I want to get out.
The bottle is clear with a mainly clear label on the front, this easily allows you to see how much of the turquoise in colour hand wash is left.
As the bottle is plastic it is widely recycled which is always good to see.

What's the hand wash like?
It claims to leave your hands feeling 'soft, smooth and hygienically clean' I can't see whether the antibacterial formula has killed all the germs on my hands in seconds but hopefully it does. They don't feel particularly soft after I've used it during these winter months although I don't have any problems most of the year.
I always find a get a good enough lather from a small amount of this hand wash although you wont find that it covers your hands in bubbles like a soap lather would.
This product has been dermatologically tested but as I only suffer from dryness I can't comment on how this hand wash would be on any skin conditions.

Price and availability
I purchased mine in Tesco when it was on offer for 90p it is currently (December 2012) available at this price which is a brilliant price for this hand wash and I'll be stocking up.

Would I recommend?
Yes, this is a great antibacterial hand wash it comes in an easy to use bottle which also looks nice.

Summary: An antibacterial handwash from the Carex range
