Advantages: Good value when on offer, cleans hands well
Disadvantages: No real fragrance, hands don't particularly feel any different
There are many handwashes that I have purchased and very much liked and vowed to continue using, and I will, but only if there isn't a better offer on some other handwashes in my local Tesco. One such offer that I took up a few weeks ago was a buy one get one free offer on Cussons Carex Collagen Boost Hand wash, with each container offering 50% extra free as well, so even better. It currently retails in Tesco for £1.
This carex handwash claims to be dermatologically tested with a non drying formulation, and containing a unique blend of moisturisers, leaving your hands hygienically clean.
As the name of the product states, this handwash contians collagen, which is 'essential for smooth and supple hands' according to the front of the item. How much collagen is in the product is not stated.
I don't tend to suffer much from dry skin, since I have predominately oiily skin, however my hands are in and out of water continually and I do like them to be soft and smooth. This carex handwash is easy to use, easy to lather up, and I do feel that my hands are fresh and clean afterwards. There is not a strong scent to this handwash, although there is a light fragrance that does linger on your hands, which smells clean.
Although I am happy using this product, and as I said, I feel that is cleanes my hands, which is really all I am after in a handwash, I think I prefer some other handwashes such a dove to this. Yes, my hands reamin soft and smooth when using this, but it is not something that I have noticed a big difference in. So although I would purchase this handwash again if it is on offer, for the simple fact that is cleans my hands well, I would certainly not rush to buy this simply because it has collagen in it, as I quite frankly have not noticed any significance difference in my hands for the 2 or 3 weeks that I have been using this handwash, which is a little disappointed. However, as a simple handwash to clean your hands, then this is fine, if you are looking for something that will leave your hands smelling really nice then there are better handwashes out there.
Summary: An okay handwash that cleans well
