Advantages: Cleans hands well, handy size, ideal to carry
Disadvantages: Smell
When my children were born I was always very careful about the spread of germs and kept bottles of this all around the house. Our house also has a lot of animals and I believe you should sanitise your hands after stroking and handling animal I mean dogs roll around outside in the muck and it's not asd if they get a wash everyday like we do.
The carex website states "This Sensitive Hand Gel uses the historic antibacterial effect of alcohol to powerfully fight germs that come into contact with your hands, whilst still treating your sensitive skin as gently as possible. Thankfully, our Experts have created an answer that works wonders. Perfect for little, inquisitive fingers, and just as good for more mature skin in need of a little sensitivity, this is a quick drying must-have for all trips away from home. It kills 99.9% of all bacteria you might come across, all in harmony with your skin's natural defences, and in an easy to carry size."
I bought a few bottles of this just before my second baby was born and I think they cost about 69p each at the time which I don't think is a bad price and it stops you needing to go to the kitchen or bathroom and having to wash your hands all the time. The gel comes in a small soft plastic bottle which is see through, the lid is the dispenser and you simply push down on the pump to administer the product.
The gel is easy to get out of the bottle and the bottle doesn't over dispense the product which is good as you really don't need more than one squirt to cover your whole hands. The gel contains "cohol denat, aqua, glycerin, carbomer, parfum, aminomethyl propanol" The only issue I have with this gel is the smell as it really does smell of alcohol although the smell does go after a minute or two so you can oput up with it. My hands feel clean after using this and it is a great little size to have discretekly around your house or even in your pocket or handbag.
I have contact dermatitus and I am quite surprised that the alcohol in this gel doesn't really dry my hands oput although that could also be to do with the amount of times I moisturise my hands. I am now a carer as a profession and I now carry a bottle of this around with me at all times, I think it is a great product as if I finish with one resident and another wants help I have a way of cleaning on my hands on my persons rather than having to go and wash them before dealing with the next person. I give this product 4 stars and it is only the smell which lets it down.
Summary: Handy item
